It sounds oxymoronic to talk about the freedom of submitting.

It's always tempting for me to say "I watched porn when I was underaged and I turned out fine", but I guess since I ended up as a trans pornographer with a bunch of weird kinks then a lot of people would say I *didn't* turn out fine.
But honestly I think the majority of adults who grew up with internet clicked that "I'm over 18" button at least once before they turn 18.
It seems very hypocritical to condemn today's teenagers for the same thing.

A while ago on this very platform I saw a SW's reaction to a 17y.o. interacting with their posts. Obviously given the current legal climate, this isn't anything an SW can condone.
But this person blew up at the teen, telling them to seek therapy. It just seems absurd to me to pathologise normal, age-appropriate development of sexuality in this way.

We know that drug education and testing works better than any scare campaign.
We know that the best way to prevent kids being groomed is to empower them, not coddle them.
We know that stranger danger fails to address the most common avenues for abuse.

Does anyone have a good resources that describe how ADHD "out-of-sight-out-of-mind" can affect communication? The way that we might not think to message a close friend in months, and that this in no way reflects the friend's importance to us?
Or more generally, the way that ADHD can mean that I'm great at acting on things in the here-and-now, great at responding when something happens. But bad at remembering to do periodic tasks without prompting.

Friendly reminder that when you find something that reinforces your position/worldview, those are the times when it's MOST important to remember to check the source.
Fact checking comes naturally to us when we are trying to disprove something. But we have a huge bias towards accepting things we agree with.
And if someone asks you for a source, don't assume they are trying to contradict / undermine you. If you've done your homework, you already know the source and replying should be easy.
