I'm gonna get hate for this... but I think that the average person really should be using something like ark and let your provider deal with lightning (and this is from the perspective of someone running a lightning node).
It's not hard, but for people not used to managing servers it can be frustrating

So... I did a thing... This was a stupid idea that came to my mind randomly... and because nostr is awesome it took like 25 minutes to actually build... most of which were about figuring out how the ps1's memory card works... but yeah... playstation 1 memory cards over nostr... and now I kinda wanna build a UI to browse them

Just one thing: rather than memorize them as buttons, you should learn the motions and what they actually mean. So you can be more powerful.
`da(`, `ci{` etc don't make sense if you just learn them as buttons but if you learn that d takes a motion and you know about a for around and i for inside, then it starts to make sense intuitively. Delete around parentheses. Change inside brackets etc.

That's an interesting stat, didn't know this one, thanks for sharing.
I wonder what the stats look like of you filter out the outliers on both edges (really low end CPUs, both arm and x86, as well as really high end server CPUs). I suspect (though I'm not confident anymore haha) that the majority of those mobile ones are for the low end devices. And also, people change phones very frequently, while they don't change computers until they because unusable for them.

Sorry but those are bad statistics, because it's impossible to get this data reliably and do any meaningful extrapolation off of it.
Most people with phones ALSO have a computer; but yes most internet traffic is on phone because some find it easier, especially when on the go, to use their phone.
The only people I know who only use phones are completely tech illiterate 60+ year olds, who of course would never run a lightning server anyway.
Of course that might be self bias, but that's my experience

here's a pretty simple example of why pure 100% anarcho-capitalism doesn't work, and why the real solution is just to go 99% of the way, and get rid of most government, plus make it simple to choose among (small) communities to live in.
alice has a restaurant, bob has a farm
alice and bob enter into a contract, she pays him 5000 sats every month to get a shipment of 5kgs of beef every day.
now bob delivers for 3 months, no problems. but then one month he just decides to deliver 4kgs a day.
alice notices, and calls bob out. bob says "no i delivered 5kgs every day, you're wrong." now what?
the second alice and bob disagree on whether he delivered 5kgs or 4kgs, you need a charlie, someone neither of them hired or can fire, otherwise he's just muscle for whoever pays more.
now what happens?

don't you think that we would need some semi-universal court that we both agree is gonna act as a fair third-party?
there can be multiple of those third parties of course, but those courts will have almost de-facto monopoly powers as time goes on.

I think that the problem is that we all have different definitions of what anarcho-capitalism means. Some literally mean minarchism or agorism.
A minarchist still believes in a state monopoly on courts, police, and national defense. An agorist rejects political participation entirely as counterproductive. Conflating them makes debate nearly impossible, which is why nobody can seem to agree.
Pure anarcho-capitalism is impossible and undesirable imo, but agorism is a perfectly fine system and one that deserves more serious engagement than it typically gets... especially in places like nostr since we're (hopefully) all freedom minded people here

The LLM is incorrect there. The reality is much cooler than "your brain knows coke is red".
For example here there is no blue, and your brain does not associate coke with blue.

Yeah, I call it fastr. And the only goal I have is to be at twice better than strfry in every bench and so far I've succeeded.
It's buggy tho, and to fix certain bugs I will have to drop performance a little bit, so take those numbers with a grain of salt. They're representative, but expect a drop of 10-20%.

I may have a solution for those issues in the coming weeks.
Lower disk space (about 1/5th), significantly lower RSS (9x, close to 10x), significantly lower write strain on disk (over 500 times in fact during writes, haven't benchmarked read yet), lower CPU usage (currently 10-25x, might change), faster queries (8x), significantly faster ingest (200x).
To be clear the software exists already so I'm not speculating, but it needs a lot of work and improvements.
