@npub1cus…6789 thats the really big one for this. in the u.s. the welfare housing is completely seperate developments and homeless get seperate camps (with no personal addresses and shit, really hurts getting a job!)
and every employer knows where these are and just discriminates because of the crime rates that happen when they basically make a ghetto of the poorest people lol
very classist society, but normal apartments/houses would never pass here, americans are disgusted by the poor and all the landowners just vote not in my back yard i dont want them
even latvia does this right its not hard! but it feels intentional. ive heard on the radio them calling it a homeless industrial complex alot, they go over legal issues and where funding is being pocketed sometimes

while the safety issue applies, i guess people will put up for that for insane levels of wealth. same reason many people move to corrupt nations in asia/africa when rich.
america is definitely no country for the poor though i can tell you, im sure you know though.
welfare housing can be not only impossible to get but even more money than the lowest rents in the areas. segregated too. just one example.
baltics has some welfare but it is quite little. enough to help though

i hear a lot fo people from west and central europe moving to states and its weird to me. i mean baltics have population loss but its largely within europe and friends who have come to the states have all expressed how awful it is and how they wouldnt live here.
but maybe thats the income thing again

@npub1cus…6789 yeah thats fair i'd say. i dont know how it is when its decent income as im rather poor, but idk, people of higher income seem to like it more and like opportunity and stuff there is, even people moving from europe and all that, but it'd seem to me, i dont know, unsafe? there's still all these crime issues and dirty streets and sure americans drive everywhere but wouldn't it be weird even in higher income to have to so concious of your safety?
