my feelings about libre tech are straightforward. explained this to my partner earlier this week because of the wyze thing. yes, i will inconvenience myself a great deal not to platform or otherwise support fascism. because moderate tech-savvyness gives me the ability to give my tiny digital middle finger to the likes of meta and apple and google... so i do. i ain't gonna change the world alone, but i get a little tickle every time someone asks me, "oh, you can do that?" yes, you can. 👍

i transported a modest amount of drywall last year by ratchet-strapping it to the roof of our car, but (a) i can't really recommend that and (b) it probably would not work at all for thr quantity you would need. so my unsolicited advice is: day-use truck rental, possibly? you can rent a flatbed from Home Depot here for like $20/hr. or maybe you could have delivered?

Granny Weatherwax is a badass, but she's FAR too serious for me to be her. i just read Carpe Jugulum last month, and i hadn't forgotten how fun-loving Nanny Ogg was, but i *had* forgotten how, um, well, basically horny she was. and i am here for it! i mean, i can't think of any other books i've read that give a fat* old** woman that level of humanity and joie de vivre.

i have not yet read The Shepherd's Crown... if that is the book to which you refer. not sure if it was his last, or just the last Discworld. but Tiffany Aching is probably my favorite Discworld character and sub-series. i too have been... saving it? i will probably get to it this year, if my heart can take it.

not for any great foresight or anything, but i just never got into #NeilGaiman. excepting Good Omens (book, have not seen show) -- and now that i think about it, i will be utterly destroyed should any such vile information ever be revealed about the late #GNUTerryPratchett ... feels unlikely, but just saying.
so yeah. just very lucky i never got interested in Gaiman's work. no loss for me. sorry to those of you who are losing yet another icon. what a fucking scumbag.

year-end is always a clusterfuck as someone living with #disability. i haven't itemized my annual spend on #healthcare ... i suspect it would only depress me. but i burned the last of my $3k '24 FSA in July. i pay $150 USD biweekly for therapy because my therapist of 7 years is out-of-network for my current #HealthInsurance, which also means this expenditure applies to my "out-of-network deductible." #MuteMe 1/x

I just started this game again for the third time. That is, I've never gotten far at all. Morning of day two. I am maybe not patient enough for the dice roll retries and inability to progress unless I'm lucky (I am not). This time around I'm trying to think of it as a graphic novel instead. I am only slightly less frustrated as a result. Good luck.
