What I wanted to tell you is to use a graph library in your client, because at some point this WoT will get serious, and it's all just a graph, so no need to reinvent the wheel of graph algorithms.
Second suggestion for your relay is to only let people write into it after they pass a CAPTCHA at registration or at each message they send.

For a chat quick fix in amethyst, I'd say
1) make the vertical space occupied by each chat more Compact, say 1/3 or 1/4 of the currently. Let only the group name, amount of users and a small símbol, to incrase the amount of grups that can be overviewd at one glance
2) sort chats by amount of active participants

I read some more.
In XMPP they have an experimental extension called "XEP-0472:PubSub Social Feed", which "defines a way of handling Social Feeds on XMPP (...)".
Maybe something similar can be done so that NOSTR can integrate into existing chats, or at least XMPP. Heres the link to the spec:

I tried:
- socks proxy
- socks proxy+vpn Mode (for the app only)
- vpn Mode (for the app only)
And in all of them, even though Orbot was not connected, I could read and write nostr event. That's what's I was complaining.
Now misteryously it went back to work as intended: no Tor connection, amethyst stops working.

-Provide an xmpp link and an xmpp web client opens it
-import xmpp libs into clients (like li purple)
-create bridges
- ask xmpp developers to find a way to make their client show your chat even if the protocol is different

Lesson: I'd your life depends on Tor, don't trust your smartphone! Use some desktop OS famous for this, or somehow a router with a kill switch

I find the interface for chats in nostr/#amethyst rather demotivating as an user. Would it be possible to integrate (maybe with a bridge) with xmpp, so it can be acessed via xmpp clients? In an ideal world also IRC clients.
For communities, is it possible to integrate it into #zulip, or provide a Standard bridge?

#tor is not working in #amethyst now. It's worst than that: amethyst is bypassing it.
I asked amethyst to use Orbot and even though my orbot is off, amethyst is still reading and writing into relays.
That's a wanting for all users thinking Tor is working!

Try NOSTR protocol. No one can moderate what you say or hear, be because all of that go thru many channels (servers) in parallel. If one censors you, the messages keep flowing elsewhere.
Plus if a channel deletes you, you don't loose your identity nor your followers or people you follow. It's also anonymous, don't require email, phone or whatever.
Mastodon feels like a collection of feuds. Nostr feels like the universe.
