nja, jag citerade moderaterna och använde därför deras språk. I mina ögon är det ingen positiv utsaga oavsett terminologi.
Men det är ett viktigt påpekande ur ett generellt perspektiv. Det var många som var inne på det ämnet under dagen, att vi måste sluta ta över/acceptera andras begrepp.

grafen i bilden visar att tillväxten historiskt varit störst när jämlikheten var störst. Den visar också att vi idag har ungefär samma fördelning som före demokratins genombrott.
Till det nämner jag gärna att "vi har det lägsta skattetrycket på 35 år" vilket jag tror är tänkt som en positiv utsaga från Moderaterna, men i mina ögon är ett argument för en röst på den vänstra sidan av det politiska spektrat.

yes, but how is that related to how videos propagate through the network (federate through the fediverse)?
When I post on pixelfed or loops it shows up on Mastodon at once as far as i know, if I seek out that account. It seems that the PeerTube account posts are not pulled in to Mastodon? But this server is only 8 hours old so maybe thats why?

Att Jonas Sjöstedt lämnar X visar att de människor som är på X är de som väljer att inte se, inte tänka. Det går inte att kombinera.
De som är på X är inte omoraliska, utan amoraliska. De lever utanför begreppen gott och ont. De är inte humanister eller demokratins väktare. De får sina siffror, sin räckvidd och är nöjda. Det finns vinning, men ingen kostnad, så det är bara att köra på.
Det finns de som lever av att inte se barnarbete eller miljöförgiftning heller. Det är samma sorts människor.

ja det är ironiskt. Det är jag smärtsamt medveten om. Har länge tvekat kring det. Eftersom Mastodon använder Patreon tar jag rygg på det. Allting är inte perfekt dag 1. När du skapat en europeisk patreon använder vi den.
Vid bildandet av en ekonomisk förening kan vi se hur man fixar ett swish-nummer och hantera det på det sättet. Då behövs också medlemsregister etc. I dagsläget är det bara jag och några serverkonton som jag betalar (står i den länkade texten). Det är en startpunkt.

so much good stuff mentioned in this thread. Had we had groups similar to Facebook groups, I see how one could move lots of people to the Fediverse. You'd set up your profile for friends and family to follow you and you them, and you'd join groups similar to what's been locking people into FB. Here in Sweden FB groups for your local town or city district is the number one reason people who hate FB stay there. That and birthdays/parties.
Most people don't want to "toot" everyday.

I think #Signal seems to be a really good app. Both from UX perspective and privacy (as far I've heard from others).
But it's still US software hq:ed in Mountain View California (with Alphabet, Google, LinkedIn), so switching to it does nothing (0) towards European digital independence. It doesn't help promote the emergence of strong European alternatives to US tech. It actually does the opposite when the European alternatives miss out on an influx of new users.

We should build a "hall of shame" that exposes politicians, journalists, officials and institutions that are still using X. There must be a cost in loss of reputation and goodwill (and votes) for these people. The public deserves to know.
They underestimate the bad will this means. Sane normal people are not on X, so they operate with impunity, hidden away from the light of open democratic discourse.
Maybe something for a hackathon?

Having a long time ago, in the distant neolithic era, identified with folkpartiet I must say it was completely surprising and incomprehensible to me, the choice they made after the last Swedish elections. I would have thought, given their history (Torgny Segerstedt), that they'd be the last party to enable a SD supported government. I thought they'd die on that hill. Goes to show how little I knew of their true face.

Jag postar detta eftersom jag tycker att det nog finns ett samband mellan att skatteuttaget från de rikaste i samhället aldrig varit så lågt under perioden efter andra världskriget och att många känner att samhället inte erbjuder något framtidsperspektiv.

I've never been a windows user but would like to help people try out Zorin/Ubuntu. Bummer that interrupting the boot sequence is such a hurdle... But I'll have to try and master that.

How big of a USB stick (GB, not cm 🙂), do you need in order to prepare a "try out Zorin" (or Ubuntu) stick for a Windows user?

Mastodon Android app always shows me notifications when someone has interacted with me. Tusky never shows me notifications.
Tusky doesn't scroll to top (most recent) post in timeline after refresh. Mastodon does.

intressant. Om jag fattar rätt... Byte från mac till linux? Men på apple-hårdvara? Jag har skaffat en billig beg elitebook parallellt till macen, medan jag väntar på min "Starfighter" från Starlabs i UK. Batteritiden är kass, men det slog mig inte att det kan vars OS-betingat.

my dream is to have community tech (whatever solution we find for gtoups) be the GOTO solution for local communities in Sweden (and Canada that I heard have the same situation with FB groups being used as staple for sharing local things). And I think there's a good chance in particular for local content to attract users away from bug tech.

maybe trying to get involved in refining the UX for mobilizon and flohmarket (that I have yet to try out) will the best way to spend my energy.
I wanted to see if mobilizon had a theming layer to it. Would be nice to make organirgsnisera.org even nicer and more typographically balanced visually, even if it's already nice. It's obvious someone cared when they set it up. But it can be slightly more polished.

yes, konstellationen seems to be doing a great job, I'm glad I joined.
But Lemmy is a disaster usability wise. I'd never foist that upon unsuspecting normal people. I doesn't pass the "mom test". I'm a UX Engineer and I still don't get Lemmy, even though I try to use it instead of reddit. Over time I'll figure it out...

Is there any fediverse software to create groups that are findable for anyone, but can only be read by members? I have a bunch of use cases where I'd like to try and offer an alternative to FB groups, which has become the staple go to solution here in Sweden even among people who intuitively dislike FB. #fediverse

I tried Mastodon and didn't figure it out. Tried blusky and liked it. Also link previews were (are) not working as well in mastodon as in bsky. So then I used bsky for about 6 months until I realised the difference in technology, ownership and governance. Bsky is "for profit". Bsky is a US entity. But their UI/UX is smoother and better. I don't think there's any shame in looking at them and trying to be on par or superior to them in that regard.

Also I saw somewhere that you're ideally supposed to use apps other than the Mastodon app. So I'm using Tusky now, which is nice, but with some bugs.

One factor can definitely be down to UI. Mastodon can be hard to understand. The threading of replies is hard to intuitively understand. The thing with if a post is private, for followers or public is hard too to understand initially. I just figured it out two days ago.
