@npub10fm…x0qg Yes I’m well aware, and have also been online in one form or other (initially on BBSes) since the 80s. However Nextdoor Inc. seem to believe that eliminating anonymity would drive better behaviour and have instead become yet another case study in why that theory is wrong.

@npub10fm…x0qg And I don’t think Nextdoor Inc. care. After all they’ve landed right in the middle of the “rageclicka eyeballs for ads” business, so their incentives are all wrong (just like all ad-driven social media).

@npub10fm…x0qg @npub1dt0…7205 I’m going to have to disagree with “it’s not entirely the fault of the people who run Nextdoor.”
I sent them a CCPA data deletion request after I quit the platform, and they explicitly told me they don’t comply with those for (undefined) “legal” reasons. 🙄
Ended up engaging a lawyer to send them a nastygram, but it’s still not clear if they complied or not.
