We stopped using Vimeo Pro. Then, without notice, the platform started wiping content from our account. Not cool. Read over the new T&C. Nothing we can do. Pay or GTFO. Also, not cool.
Thankfully, we have backups on our server. Sharable content is Nostr bound.

Can confirm.
The US film and entertainment industry is heavily reliant on tax subsidies. Has been for decades.
Foreign nations attract productions on tax rebates and credits. US states, like Georgia, do too.
States will need to get agressive with their tax incentives. But thats a double edge sword as productions that take tax money will be creatively beheld by the state.
This is how the creative industry dies: in a race to the bottom.
Production companies need Bitcoin. Now. #note1xat…mvmr

Hey there.
We're an animation production company. Been around since 2008, incorporated in 2010. Started remotely and set the standard since. Since our start, we've made a lot of commercials, loads of music videos, several television shows and now we're focused on making our own content.
We're a small company. A family business. We've got the no corporate overloads, so we're nimble and can make decisions which suit our values.
In 2021, we became one of the first independent animation studios to operate on a Bitcoin standard. We got paid in Bitcoin, we paid our crew in Bitcoin, and we hold our reserves in it too. As time went on, and the more we continued to learn about what the Bitcoin ethos meant to us; we continued to move our business to become more and more decentralized and work with tools which didn't exploit our (or our crew's) privacy.
Bitcoin was the first step. Nostr is the next.
"Not your keys, not your coin."
Similarly...
"Not your code, not your content."
In our industry, content is king. Using mainstream platforms such as Meta (Facebook, Instagram, Threads), Youtube, etc., means giving up your right to your content. If you're not a Cartoon Cantillionaire (Disney), it's hard to protect the things you create. Insult to injury, places such as Kickstarter, Patron and the likes, are riskiest business if you're 2 pixels to the right of Hollywood line. Few in our world understand that.
It's why we're excited for Nostr.
A decentralized platform, with decentralized money helps creatives in a very big way.
The value-for-value model is also exciting too as it narrows the gap between artist and audience.
We're not coders. We're creatives.
And, much like we lead the way with remote work and Bitcoin adoption, we hope to lead the way for many other people in our industry to Nostr.

We've been making the shift from big tech platforms to more open source and decentralized ones.
It's a task, but we're working through it.

"The Good Boy" is an animated musical series about the fiat world and trying to break from it. Episode one, "Crank Up Boom" (loosely off "Crack Up Boom" is a timely story about today's economic conditions.
Watch it here!

Alrighty! Think we got this whole Nostr thing down. Really excited to be here! We're actually one of the FIRST (on record) independent animation studios to adopt Bitcoin and now one of the first independent animation studios to jump into the most exciting decentralized social protocols!
Not many in our space really understand how amazing Bitcoin + Nostr are, and that's OK. We're hoping that by taking these steps, we can lead the way, set the example, and help others looking for new opportunities to grow and thrive.
We're not entirely sure how we intend to use our Nostr (maybe we stop blogging and tweeting all together), but one thing is for sure: this is fun!
If you'd like to know more about us, visit the site. See some of our works. Read some of our earlier posts.
Maybe we call Nostr our new home.
