Yea the tiered nature of KDE Frameworks makes it very easy to opt to leverage them without concern of pulling in the universe. No sense in re-inventing the wheel when there are well engineered libraries that can be used instead! - Joshua

Yep, KDE Frameworks have been absolutely fantastic, and I know both @npub192g…khdh and I have enjoyed working with KDE folks in the various Matrix rooms. Hopefully we can contribute something useful to KDE folks as well (both in terms of contributing to Frameworks, and external to it). - Joshua

The end to the saga of #Budgie 10.10 development is near! We just put out Budgie 10.10-preview.1, intended for packagers (e.g. Fedora and Ubuntu) to start shipping in preparation for their releases next year.
Budgie 10.10-preview.1 is (as the name implies) a preview release and features unfinished components like Budgie Display Configurator, but still excited to ship this! 🎉

While we are hard at work wrapping up #Budgie 10.10 (improved session launching, wrapping up display configuration, and some last little fixes), we have just put out a Budgie 10.9.3 release to align with changes in GNOME 49.x.

Coming to a distro near you! We'll also have Budgie Control Center 1.4.1 update that adds support for some modified media key schemas, so keep an eye out for that too.

BIG oof 🙈 Folks please we haven't put out Budgie 10.10, let alone our guidance and packaging info for it. Don't try putting the cart before the horse or you'll be creating disruption for end users (broken sessions) and more work for the team triaging this sort of stuff.

Landed a pull request today from team member David Mohammed (fossfreedom) that makes it so that those of us internally dogfooding the Wayland experience of Budgie 10 no longer need to stare at blank screens after login or manually write our own scripts to fire off swaybg!
It's small things like this that really help tie the experience together. Still plenty of work to do of course :)
