but while I was there I thought I'd have a look at the outdoor dining settings because mine is a very uncomfortable IKEA hand-me-down and I kinda absolutely do not like it.
I was half resting, half trying out various tables when the man came over and offered me a discount on the one I was sitting at. He told me they'd sent him too many, and he needed to get rid of them. it was the perfect size for my little patio, so I said "I'll take it!"
so I rode home and grabbed the car, drove back and it took three of us to squeeze this heavy terrazzo concrete block into my little hatchback. then when I got it home it took me probably half an hour to wrangle it inside all by myself. but now it's set up it looks fantastic. it's very comfortable, and it's the perfect size for dinner parties. and I'm super happy to have an outdoor table that I'm not going to bang my shins on every time I sit down.

Overnight it's been eerily calm. I slept with the place open and was expecting to be woken by wind or rain, but had a very peaceful sleep. There's gusts, but the wind so far seems to be further south.
The cyclone is lingering off the coast, which means it's likely to hit later and last longer. I guess that means while we were expecting to see action from this arvo, it's more likely to really pick up here tomorrow? Who knows.

Few months back I walked into the least intimidating gym on my street – the one with a big roller door on the front and you can just stroll in – and got myself a trainer. It's been going well. Feels good.
I took an early lunch break to do a session this morning and afterwards just laid down on the astroturf in front of the fan and now I want to melt into a puddle, it's pretty great.
