The whole Ray Gun breaking situation:
A talentless rich white lady scammed her way into the Olympics, scored zero points, embarrassed the athletes that did have the talent to be there, and became the focus of attention.
Academics who know absolutely nothing about breaking are jumping out of the woodwork to defend her, because as I mentioned, she's a rich white lady, and a credentialed one at that.
The conversation is now not about breaking, but about "Are people being too mean to her?"

Godzilla Minus One was great! Recommend.
I can't really describe it. It was simultaneously like an old Godzilla movie, a contemporary one, and something very new, all at the same time. I'm still processing.
Toho added just enough Kaiju to give the moments weight, but not so many that the movie felt like a VFX demo reel. And their take on atomic breath had so much weight.
It's now my favorite Godzilla movie ever. Sorry Mothra! I think people that don't like Godzilla movies would still like it.

Reminder for underrepresented folk feeling sad discovering that some of the "founders" of Open Source are also open eugencists. Don't feel so sad! Because a lot of founders of Open Source are openly and vocally disdainful of those eugencists, racists, and other bigots. ♥️👍🏿
There are a lot of different personalities in Open Source. And given the demographics of what OSS looked like back in the days, the percentage of bigots is higher than the public at large.

Maybe? But would your opinion on that change if you learned that:
* The NFL *requires* almost all athletes to play in college 1st?
* The NFL prohibits players under a certain age from going directly to the NFL?
* That in the past, the NFL made sure that there was no other option for college athletes? So naughty!
These things make college a de facto minor league for the NFL. NFL prospects are funneled into college football
