Fun Touhou facts time. I never processed this before since I never *really* paid attention to what the spell card was called. I knew Sumireko *had* a gun, but that was it. Assumed that it was a specialized type for danmaku. Yeah, turns out she has a *3D printed gun.* Specifically it's based on one called the Liberator, a real 3D printed gun. This means that Sumireko is running around spending half her life in the outside world Japan with a functional 3D printed gun that likely has ammo. :cirno_what2: No wonder she has a hard time fitting into Japanese society normally, she's so bullet-brained she feels the need to be able to shoot bullets even outside Gensokyo.
Too bad she can't stay in Gensokyo though. There's a bit of an already determined future that needs to happen.

Remember, Harmony isn't exactly a mod in and of itself, it's the C# library that's required for any Rimworld mod that isn't a xml mod to work (which is basically every mod).

I need to share this so others can know how truly awful things are. DLSS 5 has been announced to release this year, and it's utterly disgusting. Genuinely just looks like it takes the scenes and removes things like lighting, particle effects, and fog and then slaps a shitty AI face onto any face in the scene.
Even without playing requiem myself, this Leon before and after is just gross. Takes a clearly intentionally dark scene, and makes it brighter while increasing focus on the details that do not matter to the scene like wrinkles.

Genuine closest I know of without doing a deep dive is one where the guy is Satori's lover and in the second half Koishi just gives him horny pills and (arguably) rapes him for the sake of it just because she's horny.
Generally those two bring a lot more sisterly relation stuff than anything else (all possible meanings there, the more questionable ones I will not post for obvious reasons). Makes for good non-h stories about the girls but it tends to take romance out entirely.

Epic does have a gimmick, throwing money around. Platform is dogshit in every way? Here's some cash back you can spend pretty much only on Fortnite because nobody uses the platform for anything else. Putting a game on the platform causes sales to dip into the trash? Here's half a million to put your game on the platform anyways, enjoy.
Someone said that Epic is supposedly "better for developers" which I could believe only on the backend, the frontend and consumer experience is so bad that developers don't get a single thing from the platform that Tim Sweeney doesn't personally pay for out of pocket. But hey, they at least got gifting on the platform in time for the 2025 Christmas season, somewhere around 8 years since launching the platform. :ina_lownod:
Again though I do really like GOG. I just wish they put more effort into making sure DRM-free didn't just mean installing the game, but everything around it too. Online being blocked if you aren't running off the launcher is a pain and extraneous features like achievements aren't always bad, sometimes even really fun, but GOG doesn't let you have them.

Big props to GOG, this doesn't mean much for linux (most people hearing GOG would probably think it's a weird kink thing instead of a games platform, it'll only appeal to people who already know what GOG is and thus mostly people who already have a partial knowledge and appreciation for linux) but I'm glad to see GOG actually support Linux, it makes the DRM-free ideal seem more possible.
At the same time, still feel the need to shit on GOG for not having launcher features in the standalone installers. I get it, you don't want to encourage piracy. However I don't know if a game can truly be called DRM free if a bunch of features don't work because you didn't install the game using a specific launcher thus handling DRM for those features. I give em this level shit because I like the platform though. I want to see it be better.

This one is surprisingly good. Like, I expected it to be kinda generic revenge power fantasy. It is not. It is not even close. It is so wildly different and the setting is surprisingly dark in an interesting way. Should the adaptation prove good and production team actually have some balls, it should prove a very worthwhile watch.

This is basically a comedy. It is not, the author does not write it as a comedy. However there's just something really funny about the premise of the most emotionless apathetic girl in existence playing death games literally just because she can and doesn't have any other plan for her life. It's alright, though entirely dependent on how much you care for death game stories. I'm not the biggest fan of them and I mostly enjoyed it for the main character's shenanigans.

Fantasy Maiden Wars is finally out, with a release sale price putting it at ~$30 USD for launch. This isn't an unexpected price, as this is a massive four title collection designed to last for a long time telling a lot of stories. Still, it's quite unusual for a doujin title, but that just goes to show how much effort is here.
Funnily enough the OST is more expensive than the game, even at the game's normal price on the steam page. It's a bit much but the reason for the price is the fact that there's a whopping 13 discs of music with 234 total tracks on the OST.

This is depressingly true and easy to see if you've ever followed any smaller, say doujin, anime project. Go to example would be Fantasy Kaleidoscope ~The Memories of Phantasm~. Making a doujin anime of Touhou was immensely difficult for the circles involved, so much so that there isn't any voice acting (which is why any release with a VO track sounds a little odd, the series was never officially voiced). It took over a decade to release 18 total episodes, each shorter than the TV standard 20-24 minutes. Episode 18 had to serve as a sudden and unplanned ending too after things stopped working out (though after a two year break an episode 19 has been finished and is soon to be sold).
That's on a far smaller scale mind. To keep up with an anime season to be properly recognized, you'd need a full cour of show to air weekly for 12-13 episodes. It's a daunting task for even the most organized of groups.

SteamOS wont solve the problem, only sidestep it. People will mostly only be willing to use it for games if they're willing to use it at all. It will be a nice uptick in linux usage but hardly a reason for most to use linux overall.
Linux development right now has a lot of problems caused by the lack of concrete leadership. I felt like I was having a stroke reading the discussions on Wayland's official development page about how they do not want to add any cross-compatibility functionality for setting a main monitor in case software asks for it (i.e. Windows software running through Wine). It's the kind of feature that users expect to have. Lots of Linux software is full of gaps like that, intentional or not. A good OS like SteamOS cannot fix those kinds of pressing issues unless Valve were to outright take over a lot of linux projects.

I'm disappointed. Really. So this game's first demo was a lot more mysterious and atmospheric. Things were left far more for the player to decide upon and solve. There were a few mysteries where I swore I could do something more but couldn't figure it out myself.
Now this game is lacking in that manner. RPG mechanics have been added, which is fine I guess. However the Scarlet Devil Mansion commentary has messed with the game a bit. They will nonstop keep popping in with bare-bones comments or solutions to puzzles. Their suggestions and favor really don't seem to mean much of anything right now. Situations where you can choose who you add favor to often end the same way regardless of choice. Providing solutions to puzzles wasn't a joke by the way, early on a simple puzzle relating to an enemy type is presented and a solution is nearby. Originally it didn't elaborate on that because it figured you were smart enough to understand enemy weakness after being shown. Now the SDM characters chime in to say "wow, enemy is weak to that."
Despite calling leveling fine earlier, I am actually mixed on the mechanical implementation. Choosing a SDM character to side with for influence and what you receive is fine but I also feel that it takes away from the pure dice gameplay of the first demo. It made it so the player could be backed into a corner and have to find another way out of a situation. Now the player can be over-prepared just by performing a few actions and getting a level.

Ah damn. The game's not that long to blast through though. Once you know what you're doing it's only a few hours long at most (just don't do it more than twice, you will hate the story to an extreme degree).
There's also the Steam save editor which can be used to pretty easily recreate all you'd care about in your save file. Not sure if it still works but I could test.

I was going to switch over to LTSC 10 at first but it wouldn't work at all with my system since it was too outdated. The latest feature update for 10 is mandatory for some more modern hardware to work on 10, and LTSC 10 doesn't use it (or didn't at the time) to my knowledge.

Again, LTSC is your best bet for a debloated 11, and then you can manually apply other patches later. It doesn't contain the AI features, hell it doesn't even contain the gaming features (which is actually a problem because the OS doesn't understand it, meaning you need to manually reinstall the services then disable them). MAS can activate them all so it's not an issue.

Supreme Kai of Time, very sex. She is game universe (+ Super DB Heroes universe) exclusive. Her only two real appearances are the Xenoverse games and Super DB Heroes. You get to interact with her quite a bit in both Xenoverse games since she's the most important person when it comes to time and those games are all about time fuckery.

Calling it "open world" slop feels wrong because it is still very much straightforward level based structure. Each area is a separate level. Some areas are large sure, but they're nowhere near an open world. :cirno_think:
Not gonna argue the point of slop since that's highly opinionated. I'm not really sure whether or not I consider the game slop right now. It's definitely struggling to have any identity of Doom though. All it really has of that is when it pans the camera out and shows the armor. It's struggling against even it's own claimed identity as mentioned with the fact it claims to be "medieval" but then the player enters a clearly science fiction lab to pick up a plasma weapon.
The biggest issue in all of this though is the fact that the game probably isn't even bad to play. It seems like a fine enough FPS and that's enough to sell it even though it has far too high a price point. It's likely going to keep selling and companies will assume it's what the people want and try to make more.

My biggest takeaway from seeing some footage of Doom The Dark Ages was how weirdly paced the start is. Like there's an entire section of tutorial in stage two about money and using it to buy upgrades. It has a big comedic MMO quest notifier in the corner and everything.
It's all rather strange and unfitting of either the original Doom games or the reboot Doom games. Not to mention how confusing the "Dark Ages" setting is when almost every single stage is taken up by a majority of Sci-Fi facilities and tech (but with the occasional wood or stone).

It's a fucking Assassin's Creed game, they release these things anywhere from annual to biennial. It's not going to "evolve" or keep active development like a live service game. Been checking out the Hero of Ice Fairy rougelite mode since Koishi's DLC releases sometime this month.
Man the EX boss destroying me. The game so very heavily hints and nudges at the boss, and when you reach her, it's very different. She's outright abandoned spell card rules, it's a one health bar boss fight, and boy does she abuse that fact. At least she gets a nice and threatening new track to go with the danger.
