Got into the garden today. Dug up the sweet potatoes and harvested Brussels sprouts. Neither was a large amount. Still, we stuck out the challenging year in the garden.

Saturday morning cartoons gave our parents extra time in bed after a hard work week and possibly Friday night bowling.
We weren't allowed outside until 8 or 9 in the morning. Then it was almost mandatory - unless we were helping with housework.

I have some dough rising in the kitchen. Fingers crossed, it will become bread later today. Much later.
I found a no-knead bread recipe. We will see. I have really only baked Irish soda bread and sweet breads, like banana, zucchini, and rhubarb - aside from years ago when I had a bread machine.

Update: seems I had caught a flu virus that has quickly started mutating into pneumonia. I think this is the first time I've been prescribed 2 antibiotics at one time.

I have all my vaccinations (flu, covid, pneumonia). I'm rarely in close proximity to people for any length of time. And I've been washing my hands so much I need to buy stock in handsoap and lotion.

All righty. My flu-like symptoms have changed. I lost my voice yesterday (nice for hubby, right?)
Today, I have a lingering cough, even with my asthma meds in me. My throat is killing me. The home covid test was negative, but I'm not sure I trust it. So, into the clinic. They can test for flu, covid, strep.
I gotta kick this thing out of my system. We have a event with around 500 people registered on Thursday. Gotta organize tables, print name tags and help gather all the stuff needed.
(Yes, I know. 500 is insane. It may be the stress of knowing so few people will mask-up. Because - Midwest.

So, my husband and I did a little field trip today. It was a Forest Bathing session in a county park we hadn't been to.
The time in nature was pleasant. This is also the first time Mr and I weren't the youngest couple on one of these field trips.
Also, I overheard one woman mention that she had gone over to her local Democratic HQ to ask how she could volunteer. (She was probably in her 70s)
It was a good morning.
