1st of all, why do you think a "ban" would be enforceable or successful ?
2nd, why ban and not blind trust ?
3rd, there are *lots of way a corrupt politician can make money without insider trading, so is there a more general solution ?

Biology is notoriously complex and unpredictable
It is possible that mRNA tech is indeed a new era, leading to all sorts of remarkable things
or maybe not; there is a lot of hype and I don't think we have enough data yet
I *think this is compatible with known facts
In Jan 2020, BioNtech and MOderna were in fiscal straits and the Covid program was a "hail mary" that saved them from bankruptcy

iirc, the novovax is a protein polymer of some sort, and the distribution of particle sizes was not well controlled
so there is that, or maybe some other manufacturing issue ?
