@nprofile…valu I finally had the time to play around with this for a bit! I like how it looks so far! There is a bug for me where sometimes the blue filter just stays around in normal gameplay?
Otherwise I think the opening feels slightly slow? like its a twin stick shooter and I feel like i'm mostly just collecting things and not shooting often.
Really excited to see where this goes tho!

@nprofile…valu Yeah that's literally what I want it to do, make the screen go blank and start drawing the entire nametable. So uh... how do i disable the ppu?

Learning #NESDEV questions: Does it normally take multiple frames to fully clear the nametable? When I try to just do a loop to clear it during NMI, it seems to only clear 1/3 of the screen.

I just realized that you can perfectly fit an 8x8 Dwarf fortress tileset into the NES's tile graphics rom...

Playing around a bit more with my Raylib project I guess. Taking what I learned from NES DEV and putting all of the sprite data on a single PNG. I am baking that image data into the executable and then loading that as the only texture this game should use.
Should work great for smol pixel art game

I was just in Minneapolis last weekend. Its uh kind of crazy the conditions on the ground. Its worse than I thought it was...
Honestly that experience is making my life kind of fall apart? Now that I'm back home, It feels like the only thing that matters is hundreds of miles away and its hard to think about gamedev or even post here? The vibe is very much "I just don't want to look at the problem" so idk why am I even on this site, how is that even worth my time?

Stumbling through JS is painful.
Yeah there's this cool SharedArrayBuffer that the docs talk about and would make this simple.
Nope, that's only if your server is set up right because it's a security problem (and python -m http.server isn't set up for that)
So now I got to plan it out differently because that's not something I can easily get working on any server...

Currently I'm working up the courage to touch the Web Audio API
Researching it, I see why Emscripten's implementation of SDL's audio stuff was so bad...
The JS that generates new audio samples must run in a different thread and can only generate 128 samples per function call. Very different from how you would naturally make something in SDL.
