Incredible insight into how you are feeling Jake.
I’m in a similar boat with commitments and promises made to family - I too was banking on much higher prices for 2026.
2 things I am going to do though to make amends so to speak.
1 - lever up and buy more Bitcoin. Taking a loan out at 60k (basically the cost price to mine corn) is a great base IMHO. Naysayers be damned ;)
2 - get my inheritance plan rock solid.

Depends if you are a lone wolf or not.
Young, single, no support network? Fuck yeah I would move.
Family to look after, multiple children, healthcare to provide for them, deep support networks of family, friends and community. Climate, security, isolation, convoluted property rights… All factors that make uprooting an entire tribe much more difficult. Does your wife want to go duke it out in Eastern Europe, Central America or South East Asia and learn a new language and dodge stray dogs with rabies? Easy peasy for buying Steak n Shake and the occasional vacation overseas.
Try buying a house in 10 years with Bitcoin that is KYC Free.

Bitcoiners should be more worried about Bitcoin:
When using man math, strong math, and you measure from cycle top to cycle top the math ain’t mathing!
2009 - 2013 = ~1,163,000x (0.1¢ to $1000)
2013 - 2017 = ~20x ($1000 to $20,000)
2017 - 2021 = ~3.6x ($20,000 to $69,000)
2021 - 2025 = ~1.8x ($69,000 to $126,000)
2021 - TODAY = ~1.2x ($69,000 to $84,000)
And they say diminishing returns is a fable!

Cycle top to cycle top removes all noise and is all signal. Selecting the top as an anchor ⚓️ is the strongest way to measure Bitcoins performance.

When using strong math - man math - the math ain’t mathing the last 5 years:
Strong math is measuring from previous cycle top to cycle top, OR, previous cycle top to NOW.
For example:
2013 - 2017 Bitcoin did a 20 X from cycle top to cycle top (excellent!!!)
2017 - 2021 Bitcoin did a 3.6 X from cycle to cycle top (very good!!!)
2021 - 2025 Bitcoin did a 1.8 X from cycle top to cycle top (ok I guess???)
2021 - NOW Bitcoin has done a 1.2 X from cycle top to NOW (fucking terrible!!!)

Measuring from the absolute bottom post #FTX blow up (~15k) to now is BETA as fuck.
Hardly anyone - especially retail punters bought in at 15k. The whole industry was reeling.
The only folks aping 🦧 in at 15k was #retardmaxx Bitcoiners - fuck all people.
The reality is that Bitcoin has under performed big time since 2021.

Come on Joel! The holier than now ‘I’m here for the freedom’ trope is a well worn path and one I’ve heard many times for many years now inside the Bitcoin only space.
I get it Joel. The Fiat system is broken. This is a well established fact that doesn’t need repeating or explaining - we get it. We all get it! This is NOSTR after all…
Do you know what else I hate? Gravity. As you get older it fucks with your body. But I do know this and accept this: gravity does not give a single fuck about what the Bulgarian Pork Whistle believes about gravity! It exists, it’s here for the foreseeable future and not talking about it does not make it go away.
NGU is Freedom. Freedom is NGU. They go hand in glove.
Freedom = Buying a home 🏠
