jag har ärligt inte helt koll, får kanske be att få låna någons inloggning och kartlägga användarupplevelsen i detalj. Men grupper är, antar jag, samma som rum, kanaler, grupper i diskussionsforum, i Slack eller Matrix Element.
Jag har minst fyra grupper jag är utestängd ifrån pga att jag inte vill sälja min själ och berika Mark Zuckerberg:
Socialdemokraterna i Lund, mitt fritidshusområde, min stadsdel i Lund och pilgrimsvandringar i skåne.
Bättre att göra något än inget.

Jag vet inte vad hänt eftersom det verkar ha avstannat. Har jag missat någon stor diskussion/tråd om detta?
Problemet är kanske att det krävs ju en "community" för att driva ett open source-projekt. Oavsett vibe eller inte, går det ju inte för Sindum att ensam driva det i längden.
Men en grupp av utvecklare hade kanske gett oss ett nytt Frankensteins monster som Friendica.

Det finns ju mycket bra innehåll i form av mikrobloggare och nyheter, och sedan ovanpå det hade man kunnat vara med i särskilda intressegemenskaper (dvs grupper). Då har vi nästan täckt in det FB gör och som folk gillar.

Facebook slår till igen.
I mitt närområde finns en sammanslutning med bl a de lokala affärerna, coop, kyrkan, biblioteket och stadsdelspolitiker (tror jag). Jag har hört om denna mystiska best som skulle vara intressant för mig att delta i. Det hade varit kul att kanske ordna odlingslådor för sallad och grönsaker på torget t ex.
Idag blev jag erbjuden att få vara med i gruppen. Då visar det sig att det är en Facebook grupp, inte en grupp av människor som träffas, vilket jag trodde. 😢 😖 💩

I use it as a replacement for I message after I ditched iPhone. I've been lucky enough to convince family and friends to use it. Its a decentralised secure messenger from Europe. Can't be shut down through a single choke point like US_EAST_1.
No silicon valley TED talking crypto Bros behind it. No CEO with a million dollar salary. No marketing budget.
For tech explanations @nprofile…vcgd is usually a good discussion partner.

The EU login app isn't available in f-droid, but only in US app store Google Play, I had to swallow my pride and download it from there, but I can't use it.

To each his own, but I think its a weird format that is hard to understand and consume.
The purpose of communication is for the message from the sender to be received and decoded by the receiver. I fail in my role of receiving and understanding.

Det enkla (och tråkiga) svaret är nog att det inte finns ett enkelt svar, utan nån behöver först ställa upp en definition av vilket syfte och/eller område avgränsningen gäller.
I juridisk mening är du svensk om du har medborgarskap. Sedan finns det säkert en uppsjö andra alternativ. Ett oskyldigt exempel är t ex invånarna på Åland som torde vara svenska. Osv

So while I'm waiting for the little guys to get their act together and grow up I've got wild "kirskål" and lulu rosso from previous winterplanting indoors w growlights, now planted outdoors.
Maybe someone knows what kirskål is called in German, French and English? You can take the tender young ones for sallad (or pie). Originally introduced in Scandinavia by monks I think, then became regarded as a weed.

So what is this Fediverse thing all about? I'm sure there are many answers. But I'll tell you what I think.
Power balance and struggle in society has always been about the control of resources. In our age the resources are digital and the access to people attention and peoples minds. To decide what is true and who gets to speak. Or flooding the zone with garbage, effectively denying everyone the right to think and speak.
So the fediverse is one movement towards democratizing the digital era.

Mulching garlic with rough compost and then grass clippings. Will hopefully be helpful for retaining water (as well as providing nutrition obviously). Water levels are low for the second year now.

Almost two-thirds are in favour of replacing American technology with European solutions. The biggest obstacle is the enormous sums that American companies spend on lobbying. I recently heard it said that ‘the market has spoken’ – which is why everyone uses Microsoft and Google.

@nprofile…h6sh det här kommer nog tyvärr att bli vanligt. Folk verkar inte begripa att en LLM (AI) inte har någon relation till fakta och logik, utan endast fogar samman strukturer som har rätt sorts mönster utifrån ett genomsnitt. Det som låter rätt, inte det som är rätt.

The #Mastodon desktop web app works super as far as I've been able to tell. But the way the screen is organised doesn't appeal to me at all. I know this is a shallow perspective: but it's quite unattractive.
And it has some usability question marks too. Like the way the text area you're writing and editing in is positioned. #ux
I hope the new UX:ers at Mastodon have a look at this. I'm sure one could do lots of great stuff here.

Jag delade, men tänkte sedan att det skulle vara intressant att läsa mer i vanliga nyhetsmedia. Då upptäckte jag att ingen annan överhuvudtaget nämnde detta. Så jag avdelade igen, men ville följa kontot för att se om jag kunde upptäcka några tydliga tecken på vem dom ligger bakom och varför.

We have the industrial base, the engineering and we were early in Sweden, Germany and the whole of Europe.

Für Chrome-kompatibilität gibt es Vivaldi 🇧🇻 und Ecosia 🇩🇪 die sehr gut funktionieren (sie sind genau wie Chrome auf "Chromium" basiert). Ich nutze Vivaldi seit Februar '25.
Brave scheint auch gut zu sein, aber ist aus den USA glaube ich (?), und wird öftermals aus moralischen Gesichtspunkten kritisiert, wie bereits hier erwähnt.
Ich finde @nprofile…gmxz mit murena.io "cloud" super um alles praktische zu besorgen.

Its completely expected, yet infinitely sad to see #KajaKallas quoted from X in this mornings tv news.
These people are supposed to:
a) represent us
b) be role models setting a good example
So posting on a holocausts denying, extreme right, anti democratic, anti EU, Hitler praising, CSAM promoting closed algorithmically manipulated network owned by a megalomaniac doesn't quite cut the mustard.
