As an autistic person, I am deeply critical of this train of thought. Insistence that empathy is mandatory is ableist, imho.
While you may wax poetic about taking long walks, and how wonderful it is to have legs, to stretch them, breathe fresh air, you are silently marginalizing a minority of people who are physically challenged, and can't go walking if they wanted to.

My Dad was a high ranking Indian official. I know just where USAID money goes to. Most of it is kicked back to the Americans who keep this grand theft public going.

A 75 year old lady with a walker walked into the local government clinic where I was in the waiting room. She said she had just broken a tooth and was in a lot of pain. The staff there was extremely rude and dismissive of her, telling her to go away. I was aghast! I intervened in a polite and calm manner and asked them to be nice to her ( maybe get her some pain meds, call her a doctor, help her to her ride etc. ) They called the cops on me.

I used to live in Hollywood, a block from the walk of fame, a block from where the Jimmy Kimmel Show & Academy Awards (Golden Dildo) were shot. There are so many buskers in Hollywood, that if you announced that someone was doing some entertaining stuff (music/magic/comedy/etc) nobody would bother to show up. LA is chock full of wannabes and their spectacles, and over-entertained.
LA is not some bored mid-western village, where the smallest thing will draw a novelty-starved crowd.

Interesting. My idea was simply to make an ad enticing people from FB to Fedi, with a helper web site to help the process, and keep track of the Reunion Registry. It could also munge FB output ( contacts, posts, media, & interconnections ) to formats easily loadable into Fedi. It's a ramp to freedom. The FOSS community, specifically the FB2FediFoundation promotes this. People choose freedom from censorship, algorithms. People choose to bypass billionaires and their castles made of sand.

As a user, if the non-profit advert to migrate to Fedi appeals to you, you can get your data from FB. I have received all my data from FB and deleted the account.
So the FB2Fedi.org website could facilitate all this jumping through hoops ( which incidentally, is the corral fence that keeps sheeple locked into FB ), ask about their interests, find a good instance for them, help them set up an account, & walk them through migrating their data to it, if not automate it.

Just discovered Zig Zag blunt wraps yesterday ( mango, pineapple, melon ). OMG! These take getting high to a whole new level. Easy to roll, flavorful, satisfying to burn, and I could almost swear, they affect the high, make it extra mellow.
Right now, I'm thinking I want to switch to getting high with blunts all the time, and at the same time, tut-tuting myself. Was planning to switch to edibles from joints to avoid smoke, and this takes things in the other direction. Yum! 😊

In a mantra meditation, you pick a phrase ( in TM, they give you one ) that is meaningful to you. Then you sit and repeat this phrase to yourself, inwardly, loudly, and rhythmically ( once every 15 seconds ). Thoughts, sounds, and other bodily sensations may come and go. Just stay focused on the mantra, and ignore the rest. Make no effort whatsoever.

TM is a technique that requires no change in belief, diet, or lifestyle. Its benefits are felt from day 1. Insomniacs will sleep soundly the very first night they do TM. Within these small towns, one can travel on electric bikes, trikes, or other kinds of electric vehicles including wheelchairs, just as easily as in a city.
To travel longer distances, one would use a free public transport system ( e.g. electric zeppelins, where you could carry your bikes etc ).
The villages would be Amish-ish, using technology very selectively. Think Asterix's village, with solar power, and Linux robots to do the farm work etc.

I was not proposing a top-down edict to end cities. Just observing that cities are likely to become irrelevant and wither away as center of civilization.
There would be small villages, towns, hamlets, all largely self-contained, with all amenities that you find in cities. Hospital, library, park, post office, stores, community center etc. All close together, and as easy to navigate as a city block. Most work is done remotely.

The two main causes of people missing limbs are cars & wars which are fought for dead dinosaur fuel for cars, which are a transportation medium meant for speed over safety, and super inefficient, with a very low payload( passengers & cargo )/vehicle ratio. Most of the energy a car uses is used to haul itself, at high speed, so heavy armor is necessary.
End cars. End wars. End missing limbs.
Oil things must pass.
End cities.
Bicycles /w bamboo truss frames & solar batteries. 🌻

Real life story: My gf was skinny & her sis was zaftig. At their Dad's funeral, the priest giving the sermon, who didn't know the family well, decided to wax poetic:
"As one life ends....", he waved a hand at zaftig sis's potbelly, "...another life begins."
The poor girl was fuming and red in the face, though you never heard people guffaw so hard at a funeral.
