Ulith, I feel like you play dumb a lot more than you really are, and know and realize a lot more than you let on.
However, I fully agree that acting like and calling yourself (pointed at you, Aco) a god is ALWAYS a bad thing, no matter your intentions, because that kind of thing *will* get into your head, no matter how much you think you're above it or that it won't.
It's fun to roleplay and kinkplay, but NO ONE is immune to falling ill to delusion or psychosis, *especially* in the state of the world as it is now.

They're already deployed. They're just in the hands of the enemy. And if nothing else, *this* is likely why the US would hold the bubble indefinitely, and part of why they're pushing so hard to end personal computing.
Because they have a monopoly on one of the (for now) perfect misinformation toolkits anyone could've asked for. Even if the tools themselves collapse, the damage its done to trust in evidence is monumental.

jq is a JSON processor tool, which my script needs to properly extract the video metadata (because otherwise it gets mangled along the processing chain)
You need Deno or one of the other two JS runtimes that yt-dlp mentions because YouTube has switched to SABR streams, which demands proof-of-origin in order to grab streams (meant to squash third-party clients and yt-dlp)

I made this a couple years back because I was archiving youtube channels. It assumes you have yt-dlp, ffmpeg, and jq installed. Now, you'll also have to install Deno or another JS runtime to properly decode youtube's SABR streams, though.

With talks of an inter-instance tribunal council, I am ever more reminded of the idea of microstates. It's not a bad analogy either, if you consider the fediverse analogous to medieval city-states and diaspora networks. As such, a tribunal council would work similar to a league tribunal, or an ecclesiastical court.
It would probably not hurt to consider the analogy more explicitly when formalizing how we handle inter-instance relations, if only as a template or thought exercise.
Honestly, I might just run my personal instance like such, once I can get around to it.
