Get a Kobo. Download only epub formats into Calibre in your PC, and sync with the Kobo with a cable. Your books are yours forever, and Calibre is a n excellent way of organize them.
Don't touch Amazon. Their proprietary format is almost impossible to convert into epub. They want you slaved into their garden.

I understand what you mean now. Yes the common culture is huge. But the States *could* have gone independent and North America would be a land of 50 independent countries.
In fact, in Europe I tend to think of countries as equivalent to states (Portugal has the same population as Michigan, etc)
But is true that Europeans focus a lot more on what makes them different, centuries of war w
ill do that to you.

Sai, your heart is in the right place. Unfortunately your economic theory is not. Who gets to decide who are "legitimate billionaires"? You? Because that's an impossible task by definition. Each person has a set of values that will affect the decision.
Is Bezos a cantillonaire? Not by my definition, he has recreated the world's commerce and deserves his riches. But I've read that many of his warehouse employees need coupons to make ends meet. Unfair in any book.
The only solution: take the money printer away from politicians, and cantillonaires will go away. BTC doesn't fix it all, but does fix this.

Thst depends on family, your age and net worth. Exit taxes now a reality in many countries and take 5-10 years to clear so start yesterday. Family of course the most difficult to handle if you have teenagers or adult dependants. But in summary your are late already.

Tried them all:
-Umbrel: quickly dropped because I read several articles where it was not as secure as others, for BTC this is important
-raspiblitz can't remember why stopped, could have been HW issues
-RoninDojo awesome whilst Whirpool worked, robust. BTC only, very focused. Will come back to it soon.
-Start9 is awesome, as soon as clear net is out of testing will become my main server.
-Mynode is the underdog. Has been running for years without looking after it. Poor thing only gets a click now and then for updates, unloved in the corner, but keeps doing its job year after year on a basic RPi4 8gb
I would say go for Mynode if BTC only and want easy interface. Ronin for a punk style, and Start9 for BTC and general self hosting of photos files etc.

Travel to live in crazy places. It will educate your mind in ways that nothing else will. I mean places like Burma, Niger, or Antarctica. London and Paris will still be there in 20 years when you want a more leisure pace.
Pay great attention when selecting your life partner. Most important decision in your life, think "do I want to be with this person in 50years and smell their feet and farts all this time?" If the answer is not a resounding YES, then pass. A lot of people settle for second class. Don't.

Seriously, stop pushing homeopathy as a cure. If one person stops having a real treatment to use homeopathic treatments you will have seriously harmed them.
I like Big Pharma as little as anyone else but homeopathy is laughable. Do some math, by the time you stop diluting things there is **absolutely nothing**, sometimes not a single molecule of the active principke in that glass of water. And no, water doesn't have "memory".

Careful with the labels, they don't translate well across the Atlantic. The "nationalist" is wearing the T-shirt of a far-far-right party that wants the return of the dictatorship that run Spain for 40 years. A bunch of gym bros with a peanut for brain.
In Europe "liberal" means like Mises et all, Austrian economics and small government, unlike in the US where I frequently hear it used with a leftist flavor.

I lived there pre-Brexit, and still have friends there. It is a failed empire that will take a generation before it realizes that it is only a small island in the middle of nowhere. That's OK, all empires have the same problem, Russia is still going through it too. Also, as long as you have money you can hace a nice lifestyle even if the whether does suck. I love your part of the country!

You are being disingenuous. No student will make a better movie, because a movie is a plot, but also the work of thousands of people and hundreds of millions of dollars. No student has that, no matter how good are his ideas.
Why would anyone risk millions if everyone can watch it for free?
Also, there would be no R&D if people (companies are just that) didn't risk millions or billions. No new drugs, as manufacturing them has a negligible cost. No new robots, no new software nor new vehicles....don't get me started on aeroplane development costs....
I don't know about art, but in every other realm, people that say "copying is not theft are either lying or don't understand basic economics.

None of the two are acceptable. You are lucky that have a Pixel. Stick GrapheneOS on it and you have one of the most private systems possible. Then learn how to use that apps and download them in a privacy conscious way.

Because more privacy collides with auditability. BTC has prioritized the fact that everyone can check how many coins are minted at any given time. No airdrops, no printing out of thin air. That is more important that privacy, as important as privacy is. 21M and not one more.

Not only you can but you *should* if you care about your privacy. That way only your node knows which UTXOs you are interested in.
Sparrow makes it super easy. Set up a node in an old computer, I usually recommend Start9, RoninDojo or MyNode as easier than going purely Bitcoin Core, but if you DYOR you can go that route too.

When I did my research a year or so ago, umbrel was super easy to install, but less secure. To me that was a deal breaker for any BTC application.
I went with Start9 and I am super happy. Tor-only right now, which complicates things a little but I am not technical and can managei it so you can too. Super clear and detailed documentation helps a lot. And clearnet access is in testing already so will come soon. After testing on a RPi I got a Server Pure, all FOSS and very good quality.
And customer service second to none.
And no, I'm not related to them at all, just a happy camper.

Strongly disagree. I've had to sell lots of sats last year, knowing it was weeks or a few months away from a severe NGU. Medical bills were paid, life continued to be and my family was happy. Zero regrets.
That is what "store of value" means. You store until your family needs it, not until some weirdo in the internet says it is cool to sell.
And yes, I just called you weirdo. No offense, everybody on NOSTR is one (including me, of course)

Tl;Dr Start9 is a true operating system, not an app like Umbrel. Umbrel is further developed and has more apps but less safe. Umbrel looks a lot nicer but I don't care about that.
Stsrt 9 only accessible via TOR when away from home, clearnet coming but not yet there. That requires some extra steps with apps like Nextcloud but doable. Has been awesome and super stable all these months.
This said, I'm a pleb and not a dev so DYOR.
