I did a few benchmarks to see if the #Linux desktop environment you're running on your system has any impact on the actual performance, and resource consumption of your system, and made a little video out of it!
I used Top, Geekbench, Unigine Heaven, and did some battery life testing, all on #Fedora 42 beta, on the @npub1kj4…4my6 Evo 14, here are the results, and the conclusions:

Haha yeah, we’ll see. Ergonomics isn’t an exact science; and doesn’t always work for everyone: AirPods fall out the ears of a fair few people, the PS4 controller was a nightmare for some, and some think the Xbox one controller isn’t good, the Duke managed to get into production, etc..
It can be an awesome controller for a bunch of people, and a nightmare for others :)

Dépends on how inclined the grips are. They look kinda straight down to me, which means the wrists won’t be rotated in the right portion for the thumbs to lay naturally on the sticks, but we’ll see!
There’s also the issue that my thumbs often bump into one another with symmetrical sticks on a PS controller, because the sticks are too close

The deck is fine, because the grips are horizontal and straight, and the sticks very close to the sides of the device, so the thumb rotation is natural.
On that controller, it seems like the opposite

They’ve explained it in various discussions. Some people think it’s weird, I don’t: they relicense the drivers once they upstream them, but these drivers are basically staging work that isn’t necessarily ready to be put in the kernel, and might not be accepted as-is. Gpl3 lets them make sure they control when these drivers are proposed for inclusion in the kernel.
In the meantime, it’s open source, and it can be compiled by any distro and added in any repo

With more and more games moving to anti-cheat solutions without enabling #Linux support (GTA V and Space Marine 2 being 2 very recent examples), with the #SteamDeck looking a bit underpowered for recent AAA games, #Valve's rating system being untrustworthy to buy anything, and our gaming market share falling down a bit, Linux gaming is starting to look a bit unhealthy.

It is extremely frightening to see this man casually dismiss the party and program most French people voted for.
The French Republic was created with very few anti-authoritarian protections, under the assumption that most people wouldn’t vote for a despot. Problem is, people can turn into despots, and now we see the issue: Macron will build a Frankenstein government to make sure he can pass his anti-social policies. Heinous.

To anyone wondering why videos aren’t on the Peertube channel anymore: apparently, it’s an issue with the yt-dlp library used to sync from YouTube to Peertube. The instance I use is affected, and plenty of other VPS users seem to have the same problem.
The gist of it is: Google reports the library as a bot, and thus the sync can’t be performed. So, for now, videos will be on YT only, until this can be circumvented.

Today, I learned that diversity, equality and inclusivity is apparently a bad thing, and will kill a project? (From the comments under my latest news talking about #GNOME’s 5 year plan).
So, wanting people to feel comfortable contributing to a project is bad and woke now? Serisouly, what do they put in these people’s water? They’re going insane.
