Although today, the car exhaust fumes are probably healthier than the air itself.

Fun fact: my sister, Hope, visited Denver during the convention and saw his motorcade drive past. He waved to her. We used to joke that it was a good thing she didn't get run over, else the headline would be "Obama kills Hope in Denver"

@nprofile…gfcd I used to work the hot line in a hospital inpatient kitchen. I had a spreadsheet to diagram the most efficient layout of the steam table for all twenty one default meal configurations.
Does that make me unqualified or overqualified to run for public office?

It's nice to be able to use my highest gear again. But damn do I still have a lot of rust on my legs... good thing I have a month to get back up to speed before the Two Bridge Loop in May.

An e-bike does wonders for your range. A 5 mile trip is effortless; my commute is twelve miles each way.
Yes, they are heavier - most e-bikes are and 50 pounds, so it would be a workout to get it up the stairs. If you have somewhere safe to lock it, there are models with removable batteries so you only need to bring the battery in to charge it.
Cost is also a factor. A decent bike is a few hundred. E-bikes start at 1-2k

@nprofile…mcv0 I would encourage an e-bike. The pedal assist is a godsend with all these hills, and getting up to speed, or if you have to take the lane.
I second another comment I saw suggesting a mirror on your handlebars.
Reach out to your city councilers - both John Duggar and Kevin Teater are cyclists, I met them at a Ride Westside event, and they want to make Beaverton better for bikes. They might be able to suggest some resources, too.
