To make accessibility interesting, you either need knowledge about challenges disabled people have by being disabled or having close relationship with people who are. Or have enough expertise on accessibility to find it interesting. Most FOSS developers have neither.

Because first is seen as interesting, but the second one isn't. Building age verification in OS is an interesting intellectual puzzle that will turn into sunk cost fallacy (I have thought about this so much, I simply have to think about it.

I'm not saying that modern software is good. I'm saying software has always been bad. The only reason original Mac Calculator didn't leak 32 GB of RAM is that it didn't have 32 GB memory to leak. (Technically Motorola 68000 couldn't even handle that amount of memory.)
Tip: If your software has a watchdog that restarts it because it keeps crashing, you can fix memory leaks by adding module that exits the program if memory consumption gets too big. Two fixes for a price of one!

Collapse implies that there has been huge drop in software quality. I have not perceived such a thing. We just have gotten better in assessing software quality.
Then again, I've only used computers since 1980s. Maybe the drop in quality happened before that.

Who is this "we"? Co-operative is not the legal entity, it is the group of people working for common purpose. It only makes sense to start working for incorporation when you have the group of people who have agreement of the purpose. That is the structural foundation that needs to be solid. Of course it is simpler if one person decides the purpose, but that's not democracy. Result is you see people spoiling your great idea and start to think Hitler might have been right.

The second one started with a blog post about starting a co-op for taking internet back from Big Tech. There were people exitedly agreeing to that. Original poster got back few months later and told they haven't had time to do anything about it and the thing fizzled out. I worry the same will happen to this peertube co-op.

I've had two bad experiences about these kind of projects. First one was about setting up source forge. There was four of us on xmpp chat. One of them thought that decision making is the most important thing and started to design elaborate process for that. Another mentioned some server that we could use and went to sort out that. I decided that wasnät going anywhere and left the chat.

You don't know what the right tool is beforehand. All you can do is keep swiching cost as low as possible and change as needed. No plan ever survives contact with the enemy. That is why you need to respond to change over following a plan.

Stock price is an accumulation of price changes. Markets don't value things to specific price. They value things higher or lower than previously. This explains absurd valuations of companies (like Tesla at $1 trillion) and billionaires (like Elon Musk).
