Our sink has the infamous Destroyer of Spoons (aka the disposal). And there's just enough slope that the occasional glass will fall inside. I've been able to retrieve some with a combination of chopsticks, table knives and cussedness, but on one occasion the fit was just too perfect and I had to smash the glass to remove it.
I got a copper strainer to fit over the Destroyer, but my partner won't use it.

I remember taking my son there (we're talking 25 years ago or more) because the Sunday matinee would be Disney movies in English.

The dearth of initiatives to reduce consumption is heartbreaking. We transformed our way of living in the 18th Century to eliminate cholera and typhus, and then in the 20th Century to maximize auto use. We can again in the 21st Century to eliminate airborne viruses and needless commuting -- if we have the will.
