Figured I'd share this gem here for anyone else with a fascination for old electronics. Found this in storage while helping some of my professors clean out the electronics storage room and was able to keep it. An old Hitachi cathode ray tube oscilloscope back from well before I was around. Still works great too!

The suspense has been killing me waiting for my Bitcoin node to finish downloading the Blockchain.
I had been wanting to run a small pruned node for a while to further my #bitcoin journey. An old HP laptop, now revived as an Umbrel with Ubuntu Server, now houses this Bitcoin node so I can learn how to operate one on a small scale. Next up will be getting my feet wet with a Lightning node!

I used to wrap myself up in the politics. It's not even worth the time or cortisol produced looking at it now.
Unless it directly affects my life I don't care. I'll just stack sats and eat food from my garden while the world loses its mind.

I checked out the changes today as well, though I haven't paid for the Spin+ in a while since I haven't been using my card as much. If you spend a lot of money on it it makes sense. The 1% back sounds really nice, the spin sats are just a bonus.

Yes they got rid of them. I think they may still hand out a spin everyday if you are on Spin+. So technically you do still get a spin everyday, but I feel like the rewards are considerably less.

I used an old HP laptop and installed Ubuntu Server to it (works with Ubuntu as well). Umbrel is an "app" that lets you host a server on an Ubuntu system. Check it out if you are interested!

Just got on Nostr last night for the first time to see what it's all about. Today's project was resurrecting an old laptop that was too old to use for everyday computing as an Umbrel server to run nodes for Bitcoin, Lightning, and a Nostr relay. Now I've got my own Nostr relay running that my client can access globally through Tailscale.
