The Trumps' World Liberty Financial project has frozen WLFI tokens in wallet addresses belonging to Justin Sun that contain ~$100 million (on paper) in unlocked WLFI. Sun is a major backer of the project, which the Trumps say they founded to stop "debanking".
The freeze apparently came after Sun transferred around ~$9M of his holdings to Binance.
The World Liberty team has been desperately trying to prevent the WLFI price from sinking, including by burning tokens to boost the price. They may be concerned that whales like Sun could further depress the token price by cashing out.

Justin Sun has just filed a lawsuit against Bloomberg, claiming they plan to “recklessly and improperly disclos[e] his highly confidential, sensitive, private, and proprietary financial information,” which they obtained while they were verifying his assets for inclusion in the Bloomberg “Billionaires Index”.
Sun claims this will cause him “ significant and irreparable harm—both financially and physically.” He says they plan to use the information in an article unrelated to the Billionaires Index. He also claims they plan to publish “granular details about his cryptocurrency assets, including a breakdown of his cryptocurrency holdings,” in the Billionaires Index, and that he wouldn’t have agreed to share the information had he known.
Sun sent a cease and desist to Bloomberg, and was informed they still intend to publish. He now seeks an injunction against the company.

The team behind Trump's World Liberty Financial project has proposed lifting restrictions on the WLFI "governance token" to make it tradeable. I predicted shortly after its launch that if Trump succeeded in gutting the SEC, he would do this.
This would lift the substantial restrictions on the token (non-US or accredited investors only, locked tokens with no secondary sales) that were aimed at sidestepping attention from the previous SEC, and could be enormously lucrative for Trump.

The Senate passed the GENIUS Act stablecoin legislation, thanks to votes from nearly all Republicans and 18 Democrats. The bill has been criticized for further enabling Trump’s corruption, and insufficient safeguards for consumer protection and financial stability.

A couple people responded to my earlier post about the shoddy WSJ article to say “well it’s true that Democrats aren’t supporting the protests!”
At my best count, 75 elected Democrats (Congresspeople, governors) attended protests today. Another 27 encouraged people to go.
That’s just looking at today’s protests, not Democrats talking about or attending protests more generally. It also doesn’t count the many more state or local officials who showed up, candidates, etc.

Yes, you read that correctly: Congress is about to put the claims of stablecoin investors ahead of ma and pa's bank deposits. That's just stunning. Now ma-and-pa's deposits are FDIC insured, so they'll be alright, but it means the FDIC's Deposit Insurance Fund is footing the bill. In other words, the GENIUS Act is subsidizing stablecoin issuance on the back of bank deposits. By subordinating the FDIC's subrogation claim in a bank insolvency to the claims of stablecoin investors, the GENIUS Act is effectively letting FDIC insurance leak out to cover uninsured stablecoins, without any insurance premiums paid.”

In April, Coinbase announced changes to its user agreement that added two clauses limiting class action lawsuits and requiring lawsuits to be filed in New York. The changes apply to disputes initiated after May 15.
On May 14, Coinbase disclosed a data breach.
Five class action lawsuits have been filed in response to the breach since then: none before May 15, three outside of New York.

Elon Musk's favorite supposed data expert, who he's retweeted at least a dozen times, claims she can only process 60,000 rows of data before her "hard drive overheats".
Perhaps someone should rescue her from where she's apparently stuck twenty years in the past, which is the only possible explanation for those hardware limitations and the apparent lack of access to cloud compute.
