One of the BIGGEST aphobic tropes is the idea that #asexual people are "broken" or are doomed to be sad/depressed, as if they "lost" something important in life for being asexual.
To me, this is completely ironic. There was a time where I falsely thought of myself as heterosexual and I felt pressured into being someone who I wasn't.
But once I realized I was simply asexual, all those worries DISAPPEARED, and I’m actually HAPPY to know my true self. 🙂

Lix is a puzzle game where your goal is to guide the walking lix to the exit by giving them abilities like building, digging, blocking, etc.
It’s a #Lemmings clone. And dare I say, the best one I know of.
It has many quality-of-life features like rewind, advancing the simulation by 1 step, etc. There’s even multiplayer.

@nprofile…7gam As far I understand it, the plan is simple: Any future certified versions of Android will refuse to install apps that don’t have the Google stamp of approval. Basically they want to dictate to the users what they are allowed to install.
I guess that leaves users with strategies like jail-breaking, installing unofficial Android versions, or just switching the OS entirely (Replicant, etc.).
I don’t know the legal implications (IANAL).

It looks like Google is attempting a power grab and wants to prevent ALL installations of Android apps without official Google approval; even those installed outside Google Play.

Aus Nutzersicht ist kommrz. Streaming übrigens einfach scheiße. Entweder hast du ein Supermonopol, das seine Macht ausnutzt, oder du hast 1000 konkurrierende Streamingdienste, die dann einzln vllt. noch bezahlbar sind, aber in Summe wird es dann teuer.
Und Scheiß-Usability hast du natürlich auch automatisch, wenn du dann mit 1000 Apps jonglieren darfst für eigentlich dasselbe Problem (Streaming).
Ist keine gute Lösung, so oder so. 🙁

Experimental feature in #Lazarr!
These things are called "dichroic" mirrors and act like a combination of beam splitter and filter glass.
They come in 6 colors (not rendered yet). If a laser goes in, some color components may pass, while the other color components are deflected.
So a white laser hitting a red dichroic mirror gets split into red and cyan.
I am still working out the details, so things may still change.

@nprofile…z6ju @nprofile…h3ed Wait. I don't think I understand your post. When you import a video from YouTube in PeerTube, that's NOT a full copy but basically just a mirror? Meaning that changes to the video will change the video in PeerTube?
If so, that should be made SUPER clear in the UI because that sounds like a trap. It should be clearly visible to the creator when a video was added not as a full independent copy but is pulled from another site. This distinction is important IMO.

Because who guarantees that YouTube will stop there? They could alter content so aggressively that it completely twists what you stand for, and DEFACING your hard work. YouTube could stab you in the back at any time by essentially posting FAKE content under your name.
Creators need to make a very LOUD STINK about this. Oh, and leave. This is BAD.

After over a year, #Glitch 1.3.3 has been released. Big #translation update with translation updates for Chinese (Simplified), French, Polish, Ukrainian, Turkish. The game is still the same.
Current complete translations: German, French, Spanish, Russian. Chinese (Simplified) is at 99%.

#Luanti tip (because it's not obvious): If you want to enable "godrays", you must first enable "post processing" and then "volumetric lighting" in the Luanti settings. The second setting only appears after enabling post processing.
This only works in games that support it.

I just finished reading this report and this is both sad and infuriating. The amount of absolute #BULLSHIT and #ABUSE that #trans people are forced to go through just because they want to PEE is absolutely ridiculous.
There should be a much larger spotlight on this, to EXPOSE how embarrassing this all is. Everyone involved in this bullshit toilet moral panic should be SHAMED to STFU forever about this nonsense.
This really is #Segregation 2.0.

IMHO The whole implementation of #YouTube auto-#translate is a #trashfire.
1) 🗑️ The quality is just trash; the meaning is soo often butchered, it's embarrassing.
2) 😡 It's a forced feature, no way of disabling. Changing language doesn't help cuz YT will just force-translate to THAT language. 🤦
3) 😕 YT shows ZERO indication the title was auto-translated. No, "Auto-dubbed" doesn't count, that's something different.
Classic example of an #AntiFeature in #proprietary software.

Dear fellow developers: If you call something a "#changelog", make sure it really is a changelog, i.e. a document written for users that lists the changes w/o technobabble.
A list of commit descriptions is NOT a changelog! Commit descriptions by nature contain technobabble and are generally useless to the users.
You can still display a list of commits if you like, but then be honest and call it "list of commits", not "changelog".

#UK #law negatively affects #Luanti, because @nprofile…23rq (who maintains ContentDB) is too afraid of the state to allow "controversial" content like a #hemp mod (this actually happened).
This isn’t his fault, but it’s still wrong. Mods featuring alcohol are less restricted. If alcohol is OK, why not #weed?
I'm not even a drug user (not weed, alcohol, anything) but I am allergic to #bullshit.
They call it "#OnlineSafetyAct". I call it BULLSHIT! It’s just bullying people into self-#censorship.

Btw, when I'm not busy building #Lazarr! and other games …
I play a lot of old-school RPGs lately, but I'm not saying which. 😛
Technically, those old-school RPGs seem rather simple, the real meat is in the story and world design which I assume takes the majority of the workload to create.

Today I mostly just messed around with X-Decor-libre again, mostly Chess. It turned out there were still a few weird hidden bugs.
I also made first attempts to integrate custom chessbots because the current one is a joke. But then I just stopped because I shouldn’t forget #Lazarr! xD

@nprofile…3ehe Yes, it's true Wikipedia doesn't allow speedy-deletion of ALL AI stuff, just when it's obvious it's AI slop that wasn't reviewed by humans.
I don’t think ChatGPT is a good example for "free cultural works" given the high levels of plagiarism.
You never know when ChatGPT output is too similar to an original work and thus becomes sue-able.
As long copyright isn’t abolished, using ChatGPT output like this is risky.
And although I’m against copyright, I’m for condemning plagiarism.

If a news like this is what it takes to move people away from GitHub, I'm all for it! But I'm worried the same people will just go to the NEXT random proprietary bullshit, so the systemic problem is not fixed, you just answer to a different owner now.
Basically I'm saying we should all be using #Codeberg. 😃 (and give them money, if possible)

Yawn because a change in leadership is not interesting per se; I care more about the underlying system. And it is unlikely to be touched soon.
I reject an "independent" proprietary GitHub as much as a "dependent" proprietary GitHub. Dependence or independence is NOT the main issue of GitHub. The main issue is that it's proprietary and proprietary code is being injected into the workflow of (ironically) many FOSS projects. GitHub was proprietary long before Microsoft bought it.

Also, "no longer independent" doesn’t make sense to me. GitHub was already under MS ownership, that’s hardly independent IMHO. But I’m not an expert on US law, so …
Anyway, the real scandal is that GitHub is a proprietary software company. 😛

@nprofile…0tvd I remember #SourceForge. One day, it randomly started to force ad-infested "installers" into every software download which probably marked the beginning of its downfall.
And yes, independent FOSS infrastructure is important.
I think #Codeberg/#Forgejo is doing a great job in providing a non-commercial, free-software, no-bullshit software forge. Free software development needs free software tools. It BAFFLES me how this isn’t consensus in the #FOSS community.
