I know, which means it should be possible to swap to snapshot.debian.org and keep going, then install a "correct" kernel once the target system boots.
I also want to detect this at the point I build images to avoid this problem.

#AskFedi #Debian users, is it actually possible to recover from this error if I have a working network connection?

You may be able to build GNU findutils on Windows with VS2022/2026, ucrt/Windows SDK and bash from the Git distribution.
...however, bash ./configure takes minutes and minutes to run... on a Threadripper.
Comment out the following:
# if test -z "$ac_list_mounted_fs"; then
# as_fn_error $? "could not determine how to read list of mounted file systems" "$LINENO" 5
# # FIXME -- no need to abort building the whole package
# # Can't build mountlist.c or anything that needs its functions
# fi
If someone wants to submit a patch for that FIXME - there's checks below this to exclude mountlist.c (AFAICT)

Coded an idea I've had for some time, not original but I haven't coded C# for years. Feels very comfortable. Don't use this, it hammers the shit out of servers as C# wants to use 4096 byte reads and I haven't worked out how to make it do anything better. https://gist.github.com/voltagex/b4c8c113c65b645a8207d3910344ab14
Is anyone reading this a C# expert? The only thing I can think of is keeping a bitmap (?) of retrieved segments and blocking on Read() until everything is downloaded - set my segment size to some fraction of the total filesize for faster downloads. I think the underlying mapped file can be used from multiple threads too...

Looks like physics is going to get in my way - most of what I am seeing is 12V 3.6+A which would be out of spec for 12V PD. I wonder if 20V 5A would do any better stepped up?
Back to custom boards again.
These APs are too expensive to cut open and wire 12V directly to (they're definitely stepping down to 12VDC internally!)

Update: It's Hyper-V's virtual switch.
I run some VMs and this card was used to get VMs online.
Guess I need to find a different VM host - I've never been able to get Microsoft to fix bugs in Win10 or Win11 Hyper-V.
Why would an Intel (10GBe) and a Realtek (2.5) card have wildly different performance, but only on the Internet, not the LAN?
Same speedtest servers, Intel gets 1300 megabit down, Realtek gets 2000+
Router with Aquantia NIC gets 2000+ using Speedtest-CLI

#AskFedi, what kind of public key is this? The source (https://isolarcloud.com/assets/index-27a35a5d.js) suggests PKCS1 or PKCS8 but I haven't been able to get #OpenSSL to decode it.

Can anyone tell me what this #IPTables entry related to #DNS is?
#Asus has "helpfully" added this to my parents' router.
Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT)
target prot opt source destination
OUTPUT_DNS udp -- anywhere anywhere udp dpt:domain u32 "0x0>>0x16&0x3c@0x8>>0xf&0x1=0x0"
OUTPUT_DNS tcp -- anywhere anywhere tcp dpt:domain u32 "0x0>>0x16&0x3c@0xc>>0x1a&0x3c@0x8>>0xf&0x1=0x0"

How many queries-per-second do you think I need to do to get blocked by the #DNS root servers?
