Very interesting thesis on one way Hegseth has turned the US military into a force that can again win wars; we're doing everything without the "help" of our European allies. Some key bits:

It's not a law. It's a decision that strikes down a policy which might also be a law, it does not create a criminal law, that's not in the federal judiciary's remit.
It provides grounds for civil suits, but ultimately that only matters if the Supreme Court later enforces it, which they generally refuse to do WRT to other things our ruling trash dislikes, like the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

We got his cellphone video last of the big video releases, it and another from a security cam in a building in front of all this shows he was to the right of the vehicle, which was then roughly perpendicular to the street and thus not good for trying to get away.
Then she rather quickly repositioned her SUV to the right so he ended up right in front of her. When she had plenty of room to move even more to the right to clear him and start to get away.
Then we know from other videos she gunned the engine and everything went down very fast as you can see in his cellphone video and hear his "Whoa!"

From the replies I got to this post, some of y'all need a tutorial in the diagnosis and management of blunt trauma injuries. While I'm not a doctor, this is something I know a bit about from both book study and some grim personal experience.
So. Jonathan Ross got hit by a 2-ton SUV traveling at low speed. We know it was low speed, because if it weren't, he would be dead and we wouldn't be having this conversation.
The effect of that kind of collision is a lot like being whanged by an oversized baseball bat. This is not trivial shit, not just "bruising"....
[In detail, elsewhere he explains this is from the force being transmitted by muscles into the internal viscera.]
Yes, you can be ambulatory after that, and he was, but this is a category of injury that can and not infrequently does kill you later even if adrenaline powers you through the prompt effects.
The problem is that the damage from internal bleeding is cumulative, subtle, and hard to diagnose from the outside unless you get really obvious symptoms like blood in your stool. I nearly died from this once myself, which is how I know about this.
So he went straight to the emergency room. Standard protocol is to put him under close observation and do some diagnostic imaging. If he's bleeding badly enough to have trouble standing, it's surgery time - you need to go in, find the bleeders and repair them.
Fortunately Ross wasn't injured that badly. But don't make any mistake about this, anytime you have viscera injury you were only a few pounds of applied force from death. It's plain blind luck that [driver] Good didn't kill him.
You don't want to surgically intervene if you don't have to, because the trauma from the surgery can be as bad or worse than the injury. So you keep him under observation for a while and then you send him home with instructions to self-monitor for indications that the internal bleeding has become serious. Indications: blood in the stool, bloating, persistent abdominal pain.
If he survives 48 hours without increased symptoms, he'll probably be okay and no further treatment required. I think this period is already past us. But believe me, he's going to be under instructions to take it easy and not stress the bleeders for at least a week.

Hmmm, sounds like they really didn't get a lot of money until the structure change, then another billion in theory, but that included Microsoft, and that was in 2019 three years before ChatGPT got things really going.
That'll in part be a salary thing, less money but it'll actually be used, the Goolag infamously created a lot of this tech, but never did anything with it and lost its talent.

Countries and societies that rejected the industrial revolution are a stark object lesson about this, one that mightily motivated the Japanese after the Black Ships of Commodore Perry started visiting in 1953. See for example the next door Opium Wars which started in 1839.
That lesson also tells us such transformations will likely be ugly.... Although if you live enough east in the US the squealing about water isn't going to get much traction, we've got plenty of it.

But AI resumes, especially fraudulent ones, surely aren't limited to LinkedIn, more like it's a good source for data about this, including anecdotal. It's also a threat to an income stream from this unit of Microsoft, so they're in theory motivated to address it, and they have lots of data to help with that. Although that itself is nightmarish.
You, as a machinist, are very very lucky (especially with reshoring, which is more than about just Trump 2.0).

The pre-Vatican II/Churchianity Christian emphasis and all that implies also very strongly implies it pretty much can't be done much at all in today's Clown World, where the necessary virtues starting with doing this for the children instead of doing whatever for your own self-actualization are sorely lacking.
See Gary North's and my own observation that the only thing Evangelical Protestant's care about for education is cost, him in the K-12 context when he was collaborating with Ron Paul (who he'd been a staffer for back in the day).
And around a decade and a half ago a sincere quite a bit younger Catholic sister-in-law mentioned she was somewhat amazed at how I took care of and interacted with her children, basically along the above lines compared to too many of her family's friends and acquaintances (and our more twisted family members :saddest: I'm sure). (My youngest brother took his time and was very careful in picking her.)
So (perhaps) Montessori education is something to do or be enlightened by as it can be done today, and to keep alive as best can be done more for better times.
The previous item about measuring height rings true, who doesn't like tracking how they're growing I'd think, but that's from a half century or more later perspective (say 1960s and at least early 1970s). That it's innately a sort of scientific discipline thing is a very interesting insight from long ago when I guess it was a new thing. Certainly she's writing from the period when public health was making tremendous strides, and just after the acceptance of antiseptics was a thing (and I'm sure not hardly universal, especially for normies).

Because it's just not a practical replacement for liquid fossil fuels, and is subpar for natural gas (CH4 which is hydrogen dominant anyway, thus its use in providing them to fix nitrogen into ammonia, NH3). It's just not dense stuff for the former, and see second link, but...
...I wonder, surely it's too expensive to completely remove it from drilled natural gas, and was especially so back when networks were being made? Much of what you've been relating to us is generally common sense my early Silent Generation mother had learned to do as a middle child in a large family, and I can see the utility of setting it down on paper for everyone. Beyond the age range of this book I assume is learning to cook which is also a lot of fun. I can remember my first hands on lesson, when I was trusted to brown ground beef. Many things can go wrong in that, it was around the same time I was trusted to do certain things to take care of my nearly newborn brother, this would be 8-9 years of age.

I use unmodified iPhones because they're the least worst option, fulfill all my needs for a smartphone, and I have many better things to do than fight to get a working, custom OS or thereabouts smartphone.
On the other hand, I run stock Debian + OpenZFS on the computer I'm typing this on, on a workstation motherboard which will run most any custom OS (which will likely be FreeBSD next). Although again, division of labor, this is the first machine I haven't built with my own hands for myself or friends and family since the mid-1990s. But was made to my specs and has a warranty, see also iPhones for that advantage.
OK, one issue here is ecosystems. My workstation, backup server, firewall running OpenBSD all have big enough ones it doesn't take much time to set them up and keep them running (although that wouldn't be true for normies). I've never gotten the impression custom smartphone OSs got big enough for that, and rolling with iPhones also means I have good protective case etc. options.
In the case of gaming consoles ... well, gaming is very messy, portable gaming even more so. But a company like Nintendo does provide a clear value for money proposition with its Switch machines, doesn't it? (I don't follow this domain closely after physically aging out of computer gaming.)

He would have had a third chance requiring only a majority of those attending; in any case, his coalition with the Left is weak and he's "damaged goods."

My early Silent generation mother who grew up on a farm is a fanatic about food safety. Her generation didn't have antibiotics to save people from screwups so they were careful.
As far as I know she/we never screwed up before I left for college (that is, everyone in the household getting quickly sick at the same time, GI infections that went through the family had a timing that indicated serial passage from one member to others, like of norovirus or the like). And she passed that knowledge and habits on to my siblings and myself.
They grew grain, but of course raised chickens for the usual purposes plus providing a good meal for hired for harvest farm hands, it would have been ... impolite to sicken them on.

There's really no limit, well aside from carpet bombing civilians and the like, to the responses the US could take to a sudden electricity embargo on such specious grounds, that would put a great many Americans in rolling blackouts. People in the US would die, for one thing.
And strange this is ostensibly an act by a province's Premier vs. by the federal cabinet, given the massive potential and likely spillover effects to the whole nation. Is that because of Castreau and company's maneuverings to not call an election?

It's a terrible deal, for example probably thirty or less live hostages for a thousand jailed Palestinians who everyone knows will go on to kill Israelis later like Sinwar did, one that is already weakening Israel's posture, and if Netanyahu can't keep his coalition together the deal fails.
The claim from Netanyahu that Hamas is trying to make last minute changes to the deal is colorable, can't be dismissed out of hand. They know they've got the whip hand due to new external political pressure from Trump, and they're low IQ sand niggers after all.

Assuming it's true (it's not true the deal was sealed), it's not the way for the envoy to make friends with ultra-Jews and more observant Jews that are critical parts of Netanyahu's coalition. This article is either showing Trump's frequent ability to make bad hiring decisions, or is aimed at harming Team Trump, and Netanyahu for its claim he acceded to this demand.
On the other hand it's a very bad deal for Israel, and Trump has been vocal about how he wants the fighting over before he becomes President again. And the latter is consistent, Trump's not a warmonger.
