'Sit still in your own shadow' ~
I haven't done any mindfulness or been introduced to the Buddhist philosophy until recently. So it was more of being 'sat unstill' before.
Mindfulness taps into and amplifies the compelling energies beyond description.

It's food for thought, no? I don't think it's 'missing of the author’s implied meaning' ~ but more that you're encountering it.

I've had pauses with my writing. Showing up to write consistently is important.
"Writing doesn’t require you to be fixed, healed, or mended. It doesn't only counts when you’re at your best. It doesn’t ask for clarity, confidence, or efficiency. Showing up doesn’t ask you to be centred, together, or level. It only needs your presence. It will meet you wherever you are, in whatever condition, your quiet persistence.
Showing up isn’t part of the thing. It’s everything."

#WritersCoffeeClub May ~ What wisdom do you wish you could share with your younger self?
Keep showing up. Healing isn't linear, but it's always possible. And sit still in your own shadow before anyone else can see your full light. 💒

It has a kind of cool, detached description of the action. Neat sensory choice too.

It opens a puzzling scene, with 'but by what?'
'There were just swirling doubts' is setting a second layer and perspective. Neat intro.

Ruling the abyss isn’t a personality trait, Levie. Please stop thrashing. You’re not a storm god; you’re a large, grumpy sea cucumber. 💒

Perhaps not 'understand', infer is better. Let the reader build character. 💒

Figurative Language ~
"For centuries, poets and laypeople alike have used beautiful language to celebrate nature, compliment lovers, and launch the mundane into the mystical. Figurative language is writing which appeals to the senses. Rather than operating on logic or literalness, figurative language makes unique connections based on connotation, sound, and construction of words and phrases."
