In my experience, you start a job hunt with like seven things that are Very Important to you. In the end, you get four, five of you are very lucky. In lean times you may do with 2 1/2.
The trick is you never know which of those seven things are Most Important until you get an offer and have to start seriously considering a future without them.

i’ve wondered about this too. My guess is that “char” it’s just a convenient shorthand “thing I get when I strike a key”-useful until you’ve built up the more sophisticated data models of bytes, encoding, etc., that are less ambiguous

Looks like the issue is due to an interaction between Vivaldi's default "Space Key to Fast-Forward" being True and how LI interprets that in a text editor. IMO, not a Vivaldi bug, but a LI bug. Of course.
