I like the idea of hosting my own cloud, but how do you protect against loss in the case of fire or other damage? One reason I pay for cloud storage is that my data is stored in a geographically separate location and is (presumably) backed up in a way to avoid loss.

Interesting take. It seems to me that everyone is on the never-ending treadmill of life, laboring to make ends meet in a system that is stacked against them. While there’s a risk that people lose their way when AI takes away their mundane tasks, my hope is that instead, AI allows people to exit the hamster wheel and focus on more meaningful connections with those around them. Inevitably, those who aren’t willing to adapt and advance their skills will be left behind. However, those with genuine curiosity who are freed to explore their passions should thrive.

Most doctors are trustworthy and reasonably smart people, but we’ve lost our ability to admit to others when we don’t always know the answer to every clinical question. In an effort to maintain a facade that we are subject matter experts, we’ve overstated evidence and presented educated opinions as facts. This has led to profound deterioration in the trust we’ve earned with our patients. Our handling of COVID is only one example. We overstated the evidence, presented theories as facts, and downplayed others’ concerns when they had valid questions. Unfortunately, earning that trust back seems like an insurmountable task.

I’m a physician, and I agree with your statement that most doctors are shitty at nutrition. None of my nutrition practices were learned during my formal training. And there’s so much misinformation out there that it’s hard to get to the truth about nutrition. Appreciate your post.

Agree with your points. I suspect food stamps was simply an example that his audience would understand. It would be hard to find another example that could be conveyed in a line or two in a way that all could understand and resonate with.

Aligned incentives. When doing the right thing is advantageous to both the investor and those they serve, progress reaches another level. Our current systems incentivize corrupt behavior, such that one person’s gain comes at the expense of another.

Seems like if the current gbtc discount to Nav goes away, there would be no reason why people wouldn’t transition to lower cost etf’s like blackrock (once approved). Do feel that discount is likely to resolve once any spot etf is approved?

Personally I would want the physical/ebook only version. While I can often visualize what someone is saying verbally, seeing the actual graphs and charts is so much more powerful.
