Right.
I think people are going to be wondering what relays are and what the implications of choosing a relay over another. Will this affect my experience here? Can I change later? What's the right choice? All of this is friction.

Pull payments are a menace. Can't wait to see this disappear, or at least reined in. I do like the NWC approach of being able to set budgets and limits and imagine this could be the way forward.
But that's a great point and would be worth mentioning if you do a followup or adjacent episode.
There's two main issues with Stablecoins - centralization and the fact they're based on the dollar. The former is something that may be mitigated in time. I wonder if when bitcoin grows to a large enough size and network, if a stablecoin upon Bitcoin will be a reality. Then we don't need to worry about the permissioned system like Tether. The fact that they're based on the dollar is something that will matter until it doesn't. =)

I see it as similar to Bitcoin. I'm long Bitcoin, which means I'm short the dollar. By putting my energy into bitcoin and subtracting from the fiat system it grows nostr and shrinks the influence of the dollar.

The rewards have definitely decreased over time. However, they recently introduced the ability to pay your bills, such as your mortgage through ACH and earn rewards on that as well. So even though other credit cards have higher "rewards," I'm not earning those rewards in Bitcoin, which is the key value proposition. So yes, if you have fiat liabilities, Fold is worth it.

Okay @nprofile…qvd6 Hub is pretty great. After losing Mutiny, this is going to fill that void. In some ways, it's what I wish Mutiny had been. Self-hosting Hub on my Start9 so that it's always online and ready to zap, NWC to Amethyst (or via Alby extension on web) and even a mobile wallet via web app. Only thing that might make it better is a mobile app as a front end to Hub. Bravo!

It's interesting to see how ephemeral posts on nostr are in the absense of an algorithm. If the post doesn't get much notice (most of mine!) right away, it scrolls off feeds. Algorithms resurface posts and keep them top of people's feeds if they get engagement.

One criticism would be that it's not anonymous, they know who you are. So in theory they could be forced to give up your identity and IP address. Other success, such as Mullvad you can sign up anonymously to avoid that.

It's an interesting phenomenon: mempools are staying within a range of 150-250k unconfirmed transactions, and yet fees are compressing. Currently in @npub18d4…6lt3 , there are 233k transactions and 4 sat/vB will get you in the next block. That means there's an immense amount of unconfirmed transactions below 4 sat/vB.
Transactions at 1-4 sats/vB are like layers of compressed rock under the surface, and continuing to compress further! Will be interesting to see if and when mempools ever clear again. If demand slows at some point, it's going to take awhile to chip away at all of those low-fee transactions!

Elon Musk is building a factory that produces the largest rocket ever built on what is essentially an assembly line. SpaceX will be able to produce dozens of this rocket per year.
Production on this scale for rockets is a completely new concept. Previous spacecraft were built by hand with each being unique. Standardizing will greatly enhance reliability while mass production will lower costs by orders of magnitude.
All of this to be able to hoist 100s of tons to orbit enabling space construction and transfer of resources to the moon and Mars. It's not just hot air. Well, actually it is.. 🚀
