One question that's missing from the transportation infrastructure conversations is: "what is going to happen when all the boomers can't drive anymore?"
- Small town grandma?
- Car-dependent inner suburb person with no kids in their 80s?
- Commuter working in the suburbs who loses their vision or ability to drive, either through disease or injury?
There are people who already can't drive. Accessible mass transit is a matter of equity.

2008. I was doing a science research internship when Stephen Harper became the Prime Minister of Canada. The department budget got slashed more than halfway into the fiscal year.
The PI pulled the two interns into his office and said: "I can only afford to hire one of you for the next 4 months."
I volunteered to leave and found another internship, but that was really rough for the team. We had no idea even more cuts would be coming in the following years.

The province of Ontario is legislating itself the power to override municipal planning and building of bike lanes... retroactive 5 years.
Just because cars are losing lanes.
So all of those bike lanes we've implemented across the city in the last 5 years might be torn up through provincial overreach.
Is this enough to get people out to protest?
