Everyone's commenting about signal integrity and mismatched delays, but a quick search says that the IBM PC runs at 4.77 MHz, is it really a problem at these kinds of clock speeds? I only know very basics of electronics, but I have an ADC connected to a RPi zero with 11 short breadboard wires carrying power, ground, clock, and 8 data lines, it runs at 20 MHz and I've had zero issues so far (I use it to capture composite video to then decode it in software), so I'm genuinely curious.

[Asahi Linya (朝日りにゃ〜)](https://vt.social/@lina ), I *really* hope that LLMs are a temporary phenomenon. Sure the local ones will remain even after the bubble finally bursts, but they're ridiculously bad, you do need millions of dollars worth of GPUs to get to that "it's still bad but it looks plausible" level of output quality.

Smithereen seems to be the only AP implementation that *actually* does the LD part of JSON-LD. I find broken contexts all. the. damn. time. By far the most common mistake people make is forgetting https://w3id.org/security/v1 in actors, which makes all the public-key-related stuff not have a namespace, which makes Smithereen think there isn't a public key, which is required for an actor.

[Fediverse Symbol ⁂](https://typo.social/@FediverseSymbol ), idk, I'm kinda torn between this and the Meta one.
In my mind, Meta's doesn't mean "centralized", it rather means that the bigger planet is your home server and the other ones orbit it. Mastodon and PeerTube introductory videos also make use of the planet metaphor to explain decentralization. As well as Threads, in the explainer when you turn on fediverse sharing.
But then a cluster of three asterisks, or *stars*, can also mean a constellation (of servers), so it also works.
The pentagram symbol doesn't work *as is*. But I'm also sure it can be drawn as pixel art at 16x16 to be legible. Naive downscaling rarely produces good results at these sizes. As an example, here's the Smithereen 16x16 favicon I drew pixel by pixel at that size:
