Sounds good, that 'countries get together to solve the plastic pollution problem' . Maybe I've just become more cynical over the last few years... If countries can't bother to get together to stop agencide in Gaza, what hope have we that they can get together to do anything?

Imagine Jesus showing up today: brown-skinned, Middle Eastern, speaking uncomfortable truths, lifting up the vulnerable, and calling out the rich and powerful.
He moved among the outcast.
He challenged empire, not to seize control, but to dismantle it with love and justice.
And today? The loudest 'Christians' would label him a threat. Too political. Too foreign. Too soft. Too woke.
They’d call ICE. Put him on a plane to El Salvador.
Then go live-stream a sermon about 'faith.'
It’s strange, really, how a religion built on a man crucified by the state for challenging power has become a tool for protecting it.
It's hard to imagine Jesus being welcome in many of the USA churches bearing his name.

Interesting titbit from a friend whose cottage was flooded (many in the village suffered). The 4x4 rescuers said they couldn't go through any water higher than their knees (I think she said it was because of the gear they had on ) She pointed out that the water was higher than most people's knees.. #Flood #Rescue #StormBert #weather

Warning, unsolicited advice incoming! One thing I've leaned from the studio flood is wellies are useless (that sensation of cold dirty water filling your boots is not recommended. I think in flood preparation kits you definitely need waders. My new studio fashion look will possibly involve waders....

The world changed yesterday, and not for the better. Yet it sort of feels as if the West is playing this down. I suspect that behind the scenes it's very different and well it might be. This was an act of terrorism beyond where even terrorism should go. Pagers, how soon mobile phones?
