Hi, my name is Lorenz, I am 19 years old, I do a lot of things, and I am interested in even more things :)

I am contributor to the #OpenSource Software projects #GNOME and #Vala (I am running [@vala_lang](https://mastodon.social/@vala_lang )) and I am GNOME Foundation Member.

I am from Berlin, but currently I am living in Phnom Penh, #Cambodia, and I am volunteering in a youth organisation here.

I am posting about these things, but I want to share other things as well.

tbh it is quite expected though that no AI will ever be able to generate useful #Vala and #GTK code, given the little available training data.
I would like to see how it actually performs for some reactive "standard task", like what an average webdev would do evrery day.
(Though I haven't really experience myself about that stuff)

yeah, I haven't experienced anything either. And haven't heard a lot about people getting harassed either tbh. But I guess it will sadly always be a thing, at least damage can be minimised. -> more mods -> quicker reactions

I see how moderation can always be improved. My point was more about twitter's lack of moderation and how mastodon is already miles ahead of it. (Even if not yet perfect)

How many people moderate #Mastodon instances vs How many do for #Twitter?
Compare that to the number of Twitter users vs number of Mastodon Users.
Now, something seems off, right?
Is Mastodon over-moderated, or ... is it something else?

Recent observation about #LinuxMobile phones:
The #PinePhone market price seems to drop more and more. I have now seen multiple people who don't want their device anymore.
Probably this is due to the more performant and feature full devices like #oneplus6 or #GooglePixel getting good software support for mainline Linux, thanks to @npub1vnu…8mqn and in particular @npub1466…uy9c and @npub1fx9…z4hg :) (and probably more I don't know yet about ;)

That could it be indeed, though I expected from @npub17h9…lza8 that he has a rather performant device, though actually.... I think I remember now xD I saw some discussions somewhere else...

I wonder how much CPU does it eat itself? (Especially compared to system monitor)

Last week a new GIR parser was released by Bilal Elmoussaoui!
https://docs.rs/gir-parser/0.1.0/gir_parser/index.html
It is written in #Rust, but a C binding would be very easy to write.
I am really thinking if it could maybe at some point be used as the GIR parser for #Vala
Overall it looks very complete and straight forward, also it will be used in the Rust bindings generator, so it will probably be quite stable.
