I believe the solution is the following:
You solve it with your parents/grandparents. If every milennial solves it with their attached boomer counterpart, as millennials know how to deal with hard problems, it will solve most issues.
I dealt with my parents and grandparents myself. Talked everything through with them around 15 years ago. Got all my share from their wealth when the time came, cascading properly, through parents who cascaded further the shares I would get from them. With realtively even between grandkids and kids.
They knew the drill, we knew the drill. My greatest generation and boomer frictions are solved financially and respect-wise, many years ago.
What else could I ask for? I hope you guys will have that sorted for yourselves too!

I have quite the opposite.
My mother was helicoptering me. Now I try to be my mix of a real millenial mindset with baby boomer boundaries if that is understandable. I want to give them more freedom and flexibility within hard boundaries on pre-set rules.
All in all, I am a strange parent now here in Sweden, coming from Hungary. I let them explore but don't let them do dumb sht, what them from afar and expect them to behave as per my laid out rules even if I can't see them and they get a hard talk if they disobey but if they can bring up a proper argument against my judgement I am open even on the spot to change. Hard stuff, not just for me but for them. Also we are not afraid to shout to each other in public "I love you!", "I am proud of you!", "Get over here, instantly!" and "What on earth were you thinking?" sometimes with one breath. Also, family first, individual after mentality.
I treat them (currently 7 and 4) as highly intelligent wild dogs. It works fine for us so far, even with my non-verbal autistic boy.
But this is constantly evolving and soon we get to a stage when they get a gps watch so I can track and call them so can do much more on their own, of course situation-environment-age appropriateness considered.

We do it similarly.
We both do research on different things, what I find I change a bit earlier, she is unsure on my change, we act parallel, she learns about it from someone else, she changes behavior.
It is easier for me to change when she decides as she is fully responsible for groceries and household so I have no other choice. :)
Does not matter a little adjusting time for me, in the end we aim for the same goal. Better healthspan.

I believe I would be more worried and axious about my kids future if their present wouldn't be full of challenges.
My nerves will never be the same, but they will develop strong ones too.

In the past (almost a decade ago) I often intentionally took my dogs to a walk without my phone so I can be in the present with them. A good 20-40 min walk after work sniffing lamp posts and grass.
Then I found out there are podcasts and if I do not listen to one I feel I am missing out an opportunity to learn what is a fake feeling as I do not remember almost anything of what I listen to :D
So for a year now I try to get hooked off and even if I have my phone with me and walking or driving doing it in silence. Sometimes it is nice, but hard to get off the juice.
I like the watch-phone back-up idea.
I also tried to find a phone what has e-ink display, has 5G capability for GPS but does not support much else over maybe reading ebooks. No luck yet or maybe I just don't trust enough of the brands who currently provide something similar.

As a father of a non-verbal autistic boy (7), I totally resonate with it. Seen my fair share of indirect events that point to the same conclusion.
We just started to learn to spell so will see what he will tell me when he is ready to discuss deeper topics.

I totally get why people would say and believe this. Products feel good, looks fantastic, marketing is great, have a cult around. Indeed comfy and safe feeling.
I wanted to jump on this wagon but never had enough money to do so.
Never found a cheaper but as luxury feeling from any brand-environment, I thought I will find it with Samsung but it was somehow a bit off.
I am a big fan of one-stop-shop solutions. Just we would need those that aims to smaller groups also, not just the million sized ones.

I get the joke but I believe it is more dependent how much they learn and how hard they work in the awake hours than when they woke up in the past. 'Must' is a big motivator.

I would be happy to flex with my HRV. I am happy of I reach 70. Resting heart rate is 62-64 when healthy (kids take home a lot of stuff from the preschool). Blood pressure is 130/76 usually. ~110 kg, overweight. My sleep performance according to my Fitbit Charge 6 is about 77 - 83%, and on days when it is 85-87 (happened only a few times since I have it for the past almost year), I feel like a superhero.
Stressful job, two small kids, single earner, single driving license holder on the countryside is my circumstance what is a better background compared to what I had few years ago so this is the point I am improving from.
2025 is the year where I will implement more changes for my health.
Still need to learn/practice mote how to mentally chill outside of the gym. I also decided to stop playing american football and that helps me with avoiding further concussions and focus better on weight loss, as last year even with 110kg I was small in the Swedish DIV2 league versus the most of the other linemen.
Anyway, keep flexing, we need more people pay attention to that.

I work for non-tech large corp as an Associate Director. It was a one time I pushed back to be present on a call starting from 6 pm with a client as I wanted to be with my kids (was vocal about it), due to the fact that professionally I assesed and I was not a must have. I got escalated to CEO level by the internal team, they took away the project instantly and had a few conversations about my place in the company. I was told I am not a team player and not flexible and many other things. After I worked day-and-night on other project and on calls whenever it was needed. A month later on my year end review I was praised by my questioned colleagues about how much a teamplayer I am.
I learned a very important lesson: Work is not family, I believed that so before.
What changed? I am on all calls whenever it is needed but parallel I am there for my kids as they are below camera level height as I work from a standing desk. Mic is strictly off unless I need to speak. This is the way until I can work on my own. There it might get tricky as they will be bigger and they might get an assistant seat (if interested) on similar calls to learn and to give me their input as they will see the world differently.

That is nice. I like those days!
During the summer I can get to 25k without leaving the yard, just being outside with the kids.
What is your daily average? I go around 13k in the summer and 11k in the winter.

Interesting. Many times I feel the real power if you know and capable to do something but you decide not to do it.
But that is for the negative outcome for others, obviously you refer to positive outcome cases. I love the fact you haven't caveated that as it seems in a world what you want to see it is not needed.

Good point.
I love that my band reminds me to move every hour, so I don't forget to step away from my desk to do some armrotations, a bit of a walk, sometimes KB swings or some DB exercises, indeed for max 2-3 minutes.
I use a standing desk and the difference for me compared to a sitting is an average steps per day betwen 1-2K.

I grew up that way.
My father barbequed in a parking lot in front of our garage at least once a week for years. The garage was in front of a 4 storey building with 30+ apartments in it. When a neighbor passed he greeted them had a chat and invited them to join frequently if not all the time. 80% of them never joined, 10% very rarely and just 10% regularly.
We also had people eating with us this way who just had garage in the same line or ran local shops and such. He really tried his best to be part of the community but not many people wanted to join. Most people we had were working class, some intellectuals but all around the same economic background.
It was great to grow up that way! It is interesting to reflect on it, how it was in Eastern Europe in the 90s.

Somewhere above 10, I assume. As I still have american football practices every week.
Around 10 years ago I lived in a 4 storey building on the third floor and was climbing stairs every morning somewhere between 40-60min listening to Warhammer 40K audiobooks. I had great looking legs back then. The Emperor was pleased.

Indeed.
Becoming a father was a turning point for me, and from it I never wanted to change anything in the past because it let to my kids. All worth it from that point.
Also, I learnt love is not a fixed amount and you separate and portion between your kids but it multiplies.
Having kids is not what I expected, but much much better.

Obviously it is important to try to hit the right time and right amount but life is life. I strongly believe in being a kid is an advantage in getting used to real life happenings.
I try my best and when they will be 30 they will tell me how I have done.

I would have done the same.
You need to protect the family, including pets and act with the same force you face.
I feel strongly also about teaching the kids that violence is part of nature and we don't live in a bubble. They need to understand it, so others who also do and want to prey on them with it are less able to.
We are pretty open with death also, on their level. When they saw how our dog killed a mouse we discussed it. Why it happened, how it happened, and why it is ok, and when it would not be.
Actually your described situation, when animals fight, is why we bought now a standard (large) poodle. It won't pick a fight but with it's height and ~kg weight it can survive and handle most animal attacks without the kids need to interfere. I really wanted a stafford again, but my four year old girls charming, giggling, bubbly voice is not enough in a situation to call back when it thinks it protects the family. In a few years she could also handle that if we raise her right.
