That is not how this works at all. A 'conservative' server - one run by and for conservatives and with mostly conservative accounts - that moderates in good faith against abusive conservatives will *not* be defederated by the bulk of ordinary, well moderated fediverse servers. Perhaps you should disabuse yourself of the 'woke mind virus' virus...

I am also talking about federation. Servers have the right and the power to protect their users, and I for one am happy that they do so also in this way. They are private actors operating competitively, and their users choose them for this reason (among other considerations, of course).
One pertinent observation by me and many others is that the 'freedom of speech' argument made by the right is invariably about the right to say nasty things about other people without suffering consequences. They love free speech so much that they want it all for themselves, just like it has been said fundamentalist Christians love religious freedom so much that they want all of it for themselves too. Well, defederation is a consequence, as well as a free-speech act. I like it.
About it not being hard to read what's on blocked/defederated servers: go to a private window in your browser. You are no longer logged in to your home server, and the whole fediverse will be an open book to you.

I disagree. Hate speech is / should be also a valid defederation ground. And disinfo. And defending violent ideologies. All that is banned on my home server, which is pretty middle-of-the-road.
And also, a MAGA server policing for harassment is a pink unicorn.
And BTW it is not hard to get into servers that your home server blocked. Just one more step away.

Wuhan has what is now the University's School of Geodesy and Surveying that back in the days had also tens of thousands of students. Probably still has. The sidewalk in front of the main building was frequently used for exercises and was said to be the best surveyed location in the known universe...
