I have to think for a bit about how I want to convey matching e.g. a lisp source block to a presentation-type of (e.g. a string or number) in the table that has been popped up.
With embeddable common lisp having transparent support for nowebbing in C or C++ source blocks, you could attach common lisp or C or C++ (or elisp via swank which is also what McCLIM uses) source blocks to types to click on in the table.

I had an idea for a few projects I will look into contributing to org. Particularly, my usual common lisp compiler is lisp-as-a-C-or-C++-library which would benefit from explicitly different treatment to most lisp compilers, and explicit support for the common lisp interface manager.
Admittedly, both my ideas are just @npub1urw…lh52 s' keynote and regular European lisp symposium talks.

something I remember hearing from @npub1gnu…0jmx recently was that typical senior programmers in their 40s now - I guess a generation after him and before me - had mostly never been associated with a successful project. I wonder if these were phases of Doctorow's enshittification. First there were techie nerds. The next generation of those techie nerds had their careers drained of value. The generation after that (right now), having careers at all is the value recently drained.

My interpretation of mdhughes' point is that it is a failure to say, hey, try my program. And then it turns out you have to define what the program will do yourself in /etc/my.conf, or worse "there's an api! (which you could write a different, useful program with)".
In rms' paper presenting emacs, his emacs had the explicit goal of providing an off-ramp out from secretarial work into authoring original emacs lisp programs. So his intent was to fail secretaries per se.

The article thinks that the reason is that AI generated content has been groomed to look heavily edited and overproduced, and overproduced content seems more professional (hypothetically they must have some professional editing software or something) to explain the general results of AI being ranked 'better' than human content.

Yes, I agree. I think it is likely to say people on the Mastodon, and our ouevre especially might be the subpopulation "good at" recognizing AI, and also be the minority who are revulsed.
But in a meta-study of thousands of normal people - students, professionals, workaday, .. - the majority can't tell better than chance, but rank AI content as being better.
In particular, children on average were seen to be more likely to think AI content is human and attractive than human content.

Historically, a message from a stranger was reliably done by a human whatever their motive. But now messages from strangers (such as essays submitted by students, social media posts, or medical reports) could as well be a GPT.

- no better than a monkey (to use the snarxiv phrase) on social media posts, cybersecurity, medical reports, sports/fitness coaching, and student essays
- Expert examination like poetry or doctoral candidate screening reliably caught ai.
- Some people are good at it
- AI content is more attractive than humans'

Imagine lexical closures providing restart-cases, handler-binds and signals appearing in two different branches of a nest of restart-cases and handler-binds. At first I thought that the innermost "peaks" of nested restart cases were disjoint, but if you have a closure's dynamic scope and infinite extent, you could have literally the same peak in multiple places.

Modern #news media web is utterly unuseable except via #tor browser "extra safe" which disables all the marquee javascript and nonjavascript swirling scummy advertisements and fraudulent pivot to video segments while leaving the articles and menus to some extent intact.
I guess that #links2 is better, but console-text-experience presumes some power user configuration that tor firefox does not ask for other than disabling the remaining default-active basically-viruses mozilla garbage.

though now I have actually read the article, I agree that it is basically interesting how we naturally contrast to their roll call of evil, with us being both more vibrant in our arts and not literally-the-plot-of-doctor-strangelove.
Honestly now I wish they leaned further into better conveying the movie characters rather than just being Nazi pseudoscientists repopulating the earth after killing everyone with a nuclear holocaust, given that this is explicitly their plan already.

Returning to reality a bit, @npub1fdr…lvhs is saying that there are widely available, redistributable offline spellcheckers that enable being-an-author, e.g. in combat of the Peter Thieles and Epsteins. However the demonic soul shard itself is inescapably from the Peter Thieles' stuff.
A different ffnn thing with a different technical premise would not be the LLMs now and would need a distinct name, e.g. small models that are also transformer based.

antihero doesn't mean Cool Hero. The terminator sent back in time was captured and reprogrammed after hunting and killing countless humans. This is the definition of objectionable.
On the other hand, he functionally protected humanity's key revolutionary figure, John Conor with a paradoxically fatherly and self-sacrificing tinge.
The plot premise does not allow choosing to just make skynet actually-just-good-somehow. LLMs as such are not good.

Maybe it is not that big a deal which your story is suggesting I guess. I can happily use vi, or ex, or ed, or sam, all of which are more at the could-basically-implement-from-memory-scope in contrast to Ramin's 3-years-to-make-a-new-emacs. But the analogy to emacs lisp would be like using GIMP's tinyscheme script-fu. Storing work in there gives you vendor lock-in to emacs. I guess I know enough 60-80 year olds s.t. emacs changes broke their setup for no reason

I had a thought at the end that like how the epstein class benefits from economic depressions by buying financially collapsed assets
so their personal wealth number goes up disproportionately more relative to how the whole world's aggregate wealth number goes down,
we would *want* the gdp to go down, but specifically so that real peoples' wealth numbers are disproportionately higher (and the epstein class wealth numbers are even more disproportionately lower).

I had this feeling when I noticed I could just change +1 and -1 to foo and (complement foo) in a hopfield network, which is an implementation of (is dual to) deep learning (it turned out; they didn't know this originally).
Then, all the conventional wisdom about the disadvantages and advantages of deep learning seem to mostly have been artifacts of the string encoding being used.

I think the secret-sauce is going to be having multiple SBCs operating while I am carrying them and have only the screen easily accessible. The screen lets you toggle between three inputs, so I could be actively using 3 low power sbcs while walking, and periodically check in on each of them from the one portable screen.
One or more chargers also seems more dynamic than a laptop battery.

#2026 Travel #sbc
Sorry about the blurry photo!
Some of the kinks are that the palmshell sbc's usb-c is "power only", so I need the hdmi as well. Then, the charger only has one powerful output, so the charger goes into the screen, and screen plugs into the sbc's power.
Perhaps there is a better configuration.
Only FreeBSD has an "expect bugs" driver for the wifi device, so linux currently.

Tomorrow. It's actually one of those unreasonably big and hot sbcs. I'll get smaller auxilliary ones. The display has one of those foldy magnetic stands, though I haven't found a configuration that actually holds up the display properly yet.

my new PC is a non-rpi sbc organized for carrying around. I do have a 12" thin display (which lets you toggle between 3 inputs). Hypothetically I would carry 3 SBCs and the display. Need one charger per SBC though.
So, separating batteries and boards from displays and the display-sized form factor I guess.

Ideally, kitten.markdown would sanitize the external file retrieved using y. Otherwise, I guess I would have to sanitize them separately and concatenate them, but I don't want to separately sanitize and concatenate pages.

I guess something like MPI is really going to use cl-mpi (on your cluster or whatever), though I think that the weay mpi is exposed in lisp does involve and reflect ANSI CL's strengths.

Hmm, when you say massive parallelism you mean GPUs? Using the MOP to back objects onto GPU memory is a funny idea. Kent did originally coin the term substandards, but it didn't catch on.

Amen's tagged me in response to his friend on the topic of whether someone had taught programming using the fediverse / the mastodon as the medium.
I then had the idea that Mastodon threads of toots containing code could be a computer program, which I guess you are relating to Forth of which the closest I got to it was reading Let Over Lambda.
Then, someone could start adding their own fork of someone else's computer program toots by replying at the point they wish to diverge.

Now that I had a follow-through (which involved getting a new key for mastodonel, which involved figuring out the gpg password mechanism in this emacs environment), what do you think?
I guess brutaldon would work for non-emacs; or shinmera's api for custom apps.
I wonder if I could finally fulfill your suggestion of months ago of rewriting the anatomy of lisp, but as a mastodon thread. I guess people will figure out to block my #tooteev tag pretty quick if they aren't playing.

There is a long history of music programming in lisp, though this means when you look for it sometimes you find things from the 70s/80s/90s/00s that search engines are confused about.

sorry for punting the question. In your experience, is there any meaning to people nefariously stealing games from you?
From my perspective if someone got some authentic lisp knowledge from me, and started distributing it, I could basically take a holiday. Maybe misrepresenting authorship of code could be actively bad.

it's as you say, I'm using kitten for generating eev-style emacs 'dashboards' visited in emacs (on localhost). I will write a readable article with gifs about it when I've done a bit more.

Thanks again for kitten!
the main thing for me (still quite a while til I need to use it) is that the kitten eepitch is a very convenient interface into the #kitten's kittendb (from inside #emacs).
So the kitten eepitch can be used to read and set values that determine what pages are generated, in real time.
This is useful reflectively by visiting the kitten in emacs' eww browser.
@npub1c78…wp89 we must convince Aral to adopt your category diagrams for Kitten's database typing ;p

I have to say, I am really, really happy with how the flow into the thirty second GIF reflects my ideal computer useage.
Basically, I write a clim command that steers my leonardo system "like a person does" via emacs-server, visible in the background of the straightforward clim interactor GUI I generated in a couple lines.

withstanding I'm bringing my undeveloped brainstorming to your decades of wisdom, but what if there was a sort of GM kitten, and a party of kittens were battling their way through some portentious communal hack scenario governed by the GM kitten.
And kittens were something like those early 90s experimental games where the character just executes a macro written by its player outside of and prior to the live events happening independently.
