i really need a good vocal/voice processing plugin for linux (something that works in #ardour), it needs pitch shift and high quality formant control, so that change of pitch does not make a voice "funny". it doesn't not necessarily needs to be floss, and i can pay for it, but no subscriptions please.

i'm kinda intensely thinking about how I want to support actual people who make music (art) and engage in various projects pertaining to sound-making, and less their businesses or projects that are mainly business-think in terms of promotion.
not yet sure where the line here is, since I know many of us are consistently persuaded by the system that we need to consider our work as business: and to promote and market it as such.
any thinking by others welcome.

Extremely happy about this huge update to
#BeYourOwnPlatform site dedicated to artists' digital autonomy. There's a lot more to be done, reorganize content into a better form, but this marks a big milestone. It's now in at least decent form.

you need to match accounts on insta with accounts on fedi on a public server someplace. so people who moved from insta to fedi should submit their pairs, and then other can match them from their own exports... i think that's the way this worked with twitter back in the day

it might be that insta has raised their wall so high it's nearly impossible to write such a tool. idk, but it's impossible to browse insta without an account and i'm not sure how do they allow external api access (like apps etc...)

i bought a refurbished samsung phone for my mom who's still on fairphone 3 but the system refuses to update and now app lounge stopped working,so...

one of my first experience of world wide web was at my mom's workplace. they had the complete NeXT assortment: cubes, crts, printers, keyboard's, mice, EVERYTHING IN BLACK (if there ever was a perfect goth-hacker hardware, its this). and with NextStep OS - a unix (was it Linux or bsd? they called it Mach - predecessor to osX).
and this was where the first browser (called World Wide Web) was created (by Tim Berners-Lee).

to me,
since I'm leaning more into depression spectrum,
getting up in the morning, having a coffee and breakfast, is already an achievement. and I write it down every day. It gets a check in the checkbox. I celebrate everyday that I'm able to get up. And that cheers me up. Despite all the horrible stuff happening in the word, AND in my life, I can have hope, I can have a tiny smile on my face.

bandwagon.fm tries to do something in this direction?
otherwise there is no federated soundcloud/bandcamp (yet)
to me, the closest is actually PeerTube - if you consider YouTube being a good platform for musicians, #PeerTube should work too 'cause it has pretty much the same functionality as YT (playlists, channels, player, comments), but it's federated like mastodon posts. so you can follow a musician with a peertube account from your mastodon instance and like/comment.

I understand it might be not within your resources, but it would be better (looking less shady) if user handles like @npub1t9g…uz0l that are following instances around would lead to a working profile page.

thanks for lovely explain. @npub1pal…s92h Fair Trade Music is actually phrase found on Bandcamp and I've always found it as a guiding philosophy in line with features that Bandcamp offered.
