🔥 These past few weeks, we've had the amazing opportunity to welcome hundreds of new users to Yopaki
👀 For many of these users, it’s their VERY 1st TIME holding/interacting with Bitcoin.
🇲🇽 A number of select users in Mexico have been converting their BTC into pesos and it'll be available to ALL this Quarter!
🪄⚡️ The magic of the nodeless lightning wallet continues to AMAZE all those using it (shoutout to the bamf @Breez_Tech team 😎)
🕹️ Cultural Gamification is taking a life of its own with Bitcoin Loteria!
Don't ask who (yet) but a list of fun collabs are on the horizon 🤜🤛
🥳 Not gonna lie—it's pretty freaking special watching this be alive and growing.
🙏fr - thanks to the Yopaki team, the bitcoin community, the many users who aren't on twitter (lol) and of course, our VC's 💪
🚀This is THE most fun I've had in years!

2025 Dream Predictions for Bitcoin in Mexico 🇲🇽😶‍🌫️
1. Bitcoin adoption in Mexico surges.
2. Mexican Bitcoin startups attract global investors. With El Salvador’s influence, Mexico becomes the Latin American leader for Bitcoin innovation.
3. Peso-Bitcoin integration deepens. Neobanks and traditional banks race to enable seamless Bitcoin-to-peso conversions. 🪙
4. Lightning Network takes off. More merchants and individuals in Mexico adopt LN for microtransactions, challenging traditional remittance models. ⚡️
5. Mexican fintechs pivot to Bitcoin. Non-Bitcoin-focused startups either adapt to the Bitcoin trend or lose relevance. 🏦
6. Bitcoin outpaces stocks in returns. Mexican investors begin shifting more capital from ETFs and bonds into Bitcoin as a hedge. 📊
7. Mexico becomes a Bitcoin education hub. Initiatives like Bitcoin block parties grow, promoting financial literacy and tech knowledge. 👨‍🎓
8. Regulations align with innovation. The Mexico Fintech License evolves to accommodate Bitcoin startups, sparking a regulatory race with other Latin American countries. 👨‍⚖️
9. Fiat remittances shrink. Bitcoin Lightning remittances eat into traditional players' market share, forcing them to cut fees. 💰↔️
10. Altcoins lose ground in Mexico. Bitcoin’s dominance becomes even more pronounced, as trust in altcoins erodes amid scams and poor performance. 💩
11. Bitcoin becomes a savings account. Families in rural Mexico increasingly use Bitcoin as a tool to protect wealth against inflation. 👪
12. US-Mexico Bitcoin bridges grow. More startups focus on simplifying cross-border Bitcoin transactions for businesses and individuals. 🇲🇽🇺🇸
13. Bitcoin Loteria becomes a household name to millions. Gamified Bitcoin learning tools like Yopaki’s platform shape how new users engage with bitcoin. 🎮
14. Traditional banks play catch-up. Some Mexican banks fail to adapt to Bitcoin's rising popularity, losing younger customers in droves.
15. Bitcoin and fintech conferences thrive. Mexico City and Guadalajara become hotspots for major Bitcoin-related events, attracting international attention. 🪩
If you've read this far, you might have noticed a crazy amount of optimism and some unrealistic expectations (particularly on the regulatory side).
The reality is none of this will happen without a fight.
Regulatory requirements in Mexico are amongst the harshest & most strict in the world.
😤 Ultimately, its up to all of us to make this work.
At @yopaki_, we are hard at work bringing users closer to better Bitcoin experiences. Thankfully, we’re not doing it alone.
This past year has been full of challenges, wins, and momentum that has us extremely excited for 2025.
Thanks to all those who've given us support this 2024 (funding, partnerships, collabs, and/or advice).
2025 is going to be the year we take things to the "next level." Part of our mission is to help millions of people start their Bitcoin life. If we cross paths, let's chat, collaborate, and help each other. I am incredibly grateful and blessed to know so many of you and looking forward to meeting many more!
Stay tuned 🫡

The Case for Nostr becoming inevitable:
After much deliberation, research, and reflection on the evolving landscape of data sharing, social media, and privacy, I’ve decided it’s time to give Nostr a legitimate chance. Thanks to @npub1qny…95gx @npub18lz…ugm3 @npub1sg6…f63m @npub1guh…6hjy @npub1rtl…jtfs @npub16c0…6nvr @npub1zjx…pvrl and many others.
The centralized nature of today’s communication platforms has brought undeniable convenience to us all, but at a steep cost. One measured in censorship, surveillance, and the commodification of our digital selves. In this paradigm, free expression is constrained by algorithms, and ownership of one’s voice feels more like a privilege than a right.
Nostr, with its decentralized ethos, seems to be the antithesis of that. From what I am watching unfold, it’s a protocol designed for the future of communication, where ideas are being shared freely and individuals are reclaiming control over their digital identities.
Why Nostr Matters Now?
As the world debates questions about privacy, freedom, and the monopolization of information, Nostr seems to offer a refreshing alternative. Instead of relying on centralized servers owned by corporations, its use of relays ensure no single entity can control the flow of information.
The protocol's promise has already inspired great people I respect and get advise from such as Jack Dorsey, Matt Odell, and Max Webster, who champion it as a movement. They understand that decentralization isn’t just a technical choice but far beyond, it’s a philosophical stance.
For those of us operating at the intersection of Bitcoin, fintech, and culture, this philosophy resonates deeply. Bitcoin decentralized money; Nostr seems to be decentralizing communication.
Nostr and My Mission
My focus has always been on fostering meaningful connections, especially in regions like Mexico and Latin America, where digital freedom and financial inclusion are not abstract ideals, they’re necessities. For now, platforms like Twitter remain vital because they serve as gathering places for much of my audience and what I am building. However, as Nostr grows, I see it as a bridge to the future, a place where our voices can thrive without interference or compromise.
In adopting Nostr, I’m not abandoning the tools of today. I’m doubling down on building for tomorrow.
How You Can Join Me and help me in this nostr journey:
Let’s connect and grow together!
To those who have already embraced Nostr, your advocacy has paved the way for people like me to join. To those who are curious, it’s time to explore what a decentralized protocol can mean for your voice and your community.
Twitter/X will still be a cornerstone of my strategy, especially for reaching my audience in Mexico & Latam, but I’m committing to using Nostr heavily from here on out. It’s where ideas will flow freely, and innovation can thrive without gatekeepers.
Find me on Nostr:
