Don't bother with the old game, ARK: Survival Evolved. They shut down the live servers back in October, so now only private servers can operate or something.
The new revamp, ARK: Survival Ascended is where it's supposedly at now. Remade in Unreal Engine 5, it's a lot prettier looking, but with the same game-crashing, lag, and playerbase as before.
With all that said, I do not recommend playing it, as I've heard it's much like Rust. Your shit doesn't log out with you, when you go offline. So your base, dinosaurs, and everything you've worked hard for could be gone when you log in one morning, unless you're in a "mega-tribe" with lots of other players that can be on 24/7 to keep an eye out for enemy players.
