The US economy is driven by consumer spending(+65% of total economy) and has a population of 330 million.
The largest economy in the world consumes more goods than any other country. Therefore it exports far less (+11%).
Hence trade terms must recognize that disparity and tactfully negotiate a fair deal for all parties ,both producers and consumers of goods.
Trump admin is engaged in a trade/tariff shakedown, not an economic negotiation.

SCOTUS squashed this view with the state of Colorado ruling Spring 2024,ie, only US congress can remove such a candidate. Do not agree with such interpretation but that was the ruling. And, he was never charged or convicted of treason.
