New unwanted sensation: Due to a bad confluence of changing insurers and Rx renewals I had to skip my antidepressant for a few days, and damn, two days of cold turkey have hit me like a truck in the form of flu symptoms. Stuffed nose, watery eyes, foggy head, can't sleep. Ugh, do not recommend.
It's fun when you change insurers and everything medical in your whole family just sorta goes into a limbo and you have to sort everything out and hope that all the things happening before still will.

I remember our school principal announcing it over the PA. I thought, "Space Shuttles don't just 'blow up.'" I was in a video production class, so I ran to a TV to watch coverage. I was so wrong.
In 1985 my parents took my brother and I to Florida, and we were lucky enough to see the Challenger launch. It's an astounding thing to see a space launch in person.
People just assumed space was easy now, and it wasn't exciting to most people. Just routine. It will never be routine.

My man, you have *no* idea what you are talking about here. No one is doing real creature stuff for LED volumes, and Maya is not a renderer anyone uses for final output. Certainly not in any of your Mandalorian examples from ILM is that happening. Hero CG work is almost always added later. (For Trek it's ALWAYS)
You could an argument about Unreal as a renderer versus VRay or Arnold or Solaris, but it's more the artist, not the tools.

“Ten people, five weeks, full-time. Blood, sweat, tears, and an honestly ridiculous amount of coaxing to get the models to behave and to honor the creative brief shot by shot.”

It's always been considered that higher warp speeds take more energy to create, hence more stress on the parts etc. But you will notice now there's a lot more "Go to maximum Warp" and ignoring the numbers entirely. I loved the that whole plotline about ruining space and needing a speed limit, because *storywise* they keep shrinking the universe I love the idea that they are months away from command or resources and need to figure things out. Bummer they dropped it.
