I just read this article about chess-like vs poker-like problems, and how poker-like problems are bad candidates for solution with LLM type models.
I'm looking for more reading like this about the underlying architecture, behavior, and future directions of the models and the cutting edge research around them. Does anyone have links they found valuable?

"When you have eliminated all which is impossible, then whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth." :-)
Clearly you can't blame those three while loops. Are any interrupts enabled/firing?
Do you agree with my premise that something that is low duty cycle and periodic at 2.3kHz would usually be software related? (Hardware sources don't generally have enough memory to do this.)
It could be a power supply hiccup?

@nprofile…syqt Preaching to the choir here, no doubt... but... my mind goes:
Can you run an FFT on the 38us bursts to see if they have any energy at a particular frequency, possibly pointing to a source clock domain that you might recognize?
Anything running at 2.3kHz period at that low a duty cycle is most likely of software origin as nothing of hardware origin would have such a long gap.

@nprofile…kt9v I would consider anything you are able to try as an experiment to identify a cause. I have seen some weird behaviors related to bad video drivers, failing capacitors on cards, open source vs closed drivers, resolution, heat, etc.
The first questions are always what changed recently? What experiments are quick? Can I try reinstalling windows 3.1 from floppy? Etc. :-)
Actually can you try booting from a live disk to test it?

@nprofile…fa4k At least he seems to be stating clearly what opinions will be allowed/forbidden. I guess that's better than pretending to be unbiased. :-)
I mean, I read "first things" which is very right leaning... but that's exactly what they claim to be.
But yeah, if you don't want to hear these viewpoints without any counter points then it's time to unsubscribe. (I don't read the Washington Post in the first place. )

I came to mention the "know what a directory is" line as well. Ha.
I'd like my 85 year old mother to be sending e2e encrypted messages by default without knowing it.

We need to do it, normalize it, make it an expectation and a right and a default... not for us, but for the whistleblowers, journalists, refugees...
