I have been a hardcore thrift shopper for the past 8 yrs and haven't ran across one of them. Though I did meet my current girlfriend of 7.5 yrs at a thrift store. You win some and you lose some... 😀

One reason companies took manufacturing overseas. Workers won't strike and form unions in China. I don't see companies coming back to the US as Trump says they are.

I believe civil rights activist Grace Lee Boggs when it comes to protests. Standing on the street corners holding signs and singing kumbaya isn't going to cut it. Our demonstrations must be different in that they demonstrate/show others the changes in ourselves that will create the world ahead of us.
We must begin exemplifying ways of living that reflect the change so that others see the possibilities.

You might be correct about the Flock and data centers. Surprisingly we have a state representative here in Idaho who's pushing hard against the data centers. Living in Idaho, the reddest state full of white supremacists, likely skews my impression of what's happening.

We aren't even 2 years into this administration and there's been little resistance to it. Now we are at a point where the tech overlords have established a surveillance network to keep such resistance at bay. The implied threat of being watched, receiving a knock at the door or even being abducted has put a chill upon journalists and anyone set out to question or challenge the current establishment.

So many flavors of Linux. How does a person choose?
I am running Mint on one machine and am considering putting linux on my main one. Might look into Bazxite.

I have been wanting to run my own Ghost but unsure of setting up and the expense of the 3rd party email server that's required. Also, needing a VPS is an added expense beyond my current shared hosting account.

That pale blue dot exists within a universe of 2 trillion galaxies. The Milkyway galaxy has approx 400 billion stars. Our star, the sun, has eight planets. For some reason people continue drawing lines in the dirt on that pale blue dot and then tell other people not to cross such lines. Seems a bit silly to me that in this enormous universe people will be so territorial and hateful.

I respect the investigative journalism of Woodwards however I find it irritating that he's only revealing that now in his book. Knowledge of Trump's continued relations with Putin should have been brought forth as soon as it was discovered. It seems many people are saving critical knowledge and insights for their profits through books.

Found the Wrath of Khan still in the wrapper at a thrift store. Who misses the good ol' days of slipping a VHS tape into the VCR on a weekend night?
Unlike streaming a video there was a bit of a ritual to it. Starting by selecting a movie then slipping it out of the cardboard sleeve. The clunking sound of the tape being sucked into the VCR and the reels engaging to begin playing it. If you were lucky you didn't have to fiddle with the tracking wheel.
Those were the days.

If anyone intends to clearly communicate about Climate Change they must use both Celcius and Fahrenheit when discussing it. Otherwise those in the U.S. won't fully grasp the issue since celcius is foreign to them.
Let's start using C/F in all of our communication to reach everyone.

Recently I have had conversations with many Gen Z'ers from different social circles about Climate Change. I was surprised that each of them said they and their peers never discuss Climate Change. Where are we failing on getting the issue and it's threat communicated to them?
