I just have them at whatever the BTCPay default is. It looks like I usually get 1 sat per routed transaction. Most of my nodes economic activity is just me buying and selling things though, it doesn't do much routing

The problem is the "for free" part. Unless you have the hardware for it at home (and it has to be very good hardware) the locally run LLMs don't have enough capacity for the context windows that these agents need to be most effective so you have to hit one of the bigger providers APIs which gets expensive fast. If your agent is able to generate an income that is greater than his costs then you can use him "for free"

I read the article, I read the BIP. I am trying to think through this rationally and not jump to any conclusions one way or another. Can you elaborate on one thing for me? It looks, from my reading, that the biggest argument for freezing / burning / whatever the "vulnerable" coins is because if they come to market they will have a negative price impact. Am I interpreting this correctly?

I've been here for a while now, getting my feet under me, learning, interacting. Sometimes just talking to the void & sometimes having real, meaningful connections.
I plan to continue interacting and sharing here, on this wild and free protocol. And today I'm happy to use nostr to announce the Hook Mountain Manufacturing Company est. 926845.
It is a one man shop. It is me and I am it.
I take trees from my local ecosystem that were otherwise going to be turned to mulch or sent to the big mills upstate and beyond for veneer, flooring, etc. and I turn them into useful products for your everyday life.
I've been working with trees for many years at this point, and have been learning how to process them from log to end product. It is a slow journey, filled with trials and errors. Blood, sweat, tears. I am not formally trained, just brute forcing my way through life and production.
Part of my production process involves directing the heat generated from bitcoin mining into a wood kiln to reduce the moisture content of my lumber to a suitable range for fine wood working. When you support my business you are directly supporting the decentralization of the network. Any knowledge I gain in this area will be shared freely.
My aim is to be a nostr & bitcoin first company. I want to make quality products and trade them for hard money. My goal with this company is to produce enough value for the world to afford me and my eventual family a comfortable life filled with travel, learning, and connection.
For now I am accepting bitcoin and fiat - not out of choice but necessity. When my bitcoin market gets big enough I will drop the fiat and never look back.

Kiln update: Reached low 90s yesterday, intaking low 60F air.
There seems to be equilibrium now with the setup. I'll monitor for a few more days and if it doesn't get up to 100F I'll insulate the futurebit chamber better so it heats its environment as well. If the futurebit is intaking air that's in the low 70s I should be able to sustain 100F for the 6+ weeks I need to drop the wood moisture to around 8%
Check out my new method for connecting the futurebit to ductwork. All low tolerance cuts with no glue, nails etc. It stays tight in use and can be disassembled and reassembled at will.
The bottom is fully slotted to allow airflow and it does not sit on a solid surface. Definitely not a front of shop solution but it works very well.

Sure thing! One thing to look out for is suggestions 1 & 2 may only incentivize price fixation. I've tried to onboard friends only to have them care about price action & not the deeper moral or philosophical questions that come along with the studying this stuff. That will be the hardest part but I wish you all the luck and I appreciate you're trying to do right by your guys.

This would be after you've started accepting BTC payments but here are a few options of the top of my head.
-You can tell the crew that if a job is paid in BTC they can keep 5% (or whatever number makes sense) split amongst themselves. The catch is that it's paid as a Christmas bonus so they are at least forced holders through the year. If they think they have a bitcoin bonus coming they will follow the charts and start to understand the swings and movements. Maybe it will inspire deeper learning.
-You can offer a BTC savings match similar to how employers match 401k. Limit it however you want; match $100 a month, $50 a month, etc. You can even make it so that it only vests when an employee reaches one year, two years, etc with the company. This will encourage employee retention and savings.
-You can offer an extra 30 minutes (paid) on Friday lunch hour where you have socratic discussions on money, life, etc.
I think that you will have to offer some incentive. Especially because you're in a position of authority looking for them to learn about one of your interests. What you're planning would be an altruistic move and ultimately it will need to partially come at your short term expense.

This board is made from three trees. A walnut from my hometown, a maple that I used to sneak out under, and a cherry from a best friend's home. I grew up in the shadow of these trees and so many more. As I lived, as I learned, as I lost. I never would have thought I would be intimately involved with their future. That I would one day dissect and repurpose them.
I don't know the story of every tree that passes through my hands, but I know the story of these three.
