Hi #Mastodon family some people have been asking why we don’t post the maize on our land hhh. So here it is, our maize field looks all green and healthy 😉.
And the funny part is 🌽😂 the maize we gave the least attention is now among the most developed around us. Harvest time is getting closer and we can’t wait to share with the community 😉
In #Africa maize are used to make posho, a common school meal. Fresh maize can also be roasted or boiled and tastes great 😉.

We successfully completed mulching our banana plantation, and the plants are now well organized. This was not easy for us because it was challenging to find enough grass for mulching, but we are happy we managed to finish it.
Mulching helps in keeping moisture in the soil, improves soil fertility, reduces weed growth, and protects the plants from strong sun and heavy rain. This helps the bananas grow healthier and stronger.

As we step into the Easter vibes, we first had to focus on one important task making terraces on our land. The heavy waters from the surrounding hills have been washing away our fertile topsoil, which is vital for farming. We worked hard and succeeded. This thread is about our banana plantation project which is ongoing As you may know we started by planting fruit trees like mangoes, avocados guavas, and oranges with some few other types of trees on our land. Next is bananas, as we continue building a productive organic, and sustainable farm. We also plan to add coffee trees and later introduce green crops like cabbage, tomatoes, onions and carrots etc, to strengthen food security in our community. #SustainableFarming #FoodSecurity #Organic

Yesterday we held a colorful tree-planting program in the Lunnya the small town Together with pupils from Lwamata Primary School in Lunnya, we walked through the the community carrying tree seedlings to the planting site. Along the way, many people joined and learned about our mission. Even those who didn’t know us before came to understand our work to protect the environment, fight climate change, and secure a better future through actions like tree planting.

.I understand your point, and I agree that flying has a big impact on our planet, especially with how often it’s used in the West by people who travel frequently. For us as youth, flying is still a dream for the future, and you know it’s not easy for many Africans to experience it even once. But I’m happy that we have the values and determination that might make it possible for us to fly one day, especially through our work with EYN.

As a member of EYN in Uganda, I believe a good coffee farm is one that cares for both the land and the people. Fair trade and organic are important, but true sustainability goes deeper. A good farm protects the soil, keeps trees and shade, uses water wisely, and avoids chemicals that harm the environment. It also pays farmers fairly and helps the community grow food alongside the coffee, so families can eat and still earn from their crops...

People who love coffee don’t know the journey it takes before reaching their cup As coffee harvesters we work hard to ensure quality: a ripe coffee cherry is red not green, and the green ones are unripe and can kill the quality of the final product To protect good coffee for our customers we carefully sort out any green or unwanted beans that may fall in during harvesting, because quality starts at the farm and even the small harvests we get deserve to be the best. #CoffeeFarming #QualityCoffee

Hello friends, we safely traveled from Uganda to Kenya for our permaculture training. The journey was long but full of new experiences crossing the border and seeing new places. We are now hosted by Roland, a white man who has become a true native of Kenya, in Kitui division. Today, as I was coming back from one of the schools where we recently initiated a sustainable garden, I passed by Kana’s farm. I was truly impressed he has a variety of healthy trees and his work is really inspiring. I plan to go back soon to visit him properly. I believe there’s a lot I can learn from him, and I look forward to building a strong connection.
