FreeCAD Day 2025
Each year on the Friday before the FOSDEM event, FreeCAD has held one of it’s “FreeCAD Days” where, after working for a few days directly on FreeCAD in a hackathon style, the day is set up as an Un-conference meaning any presentation or activity can be attached to the agenda. It’s a lovely format that allows for really interesting things to happen.

FreeCAD 1.0 Release Candidate 4 is out

The second release candidate of FreeCAD 1.0 is out
We’ve just released FreeCAD 1.0rc2, builds are already available for downloading on GitHub. The update is coming with just bugfixes.
The number of issues blocking the final release has been circling around 6-8 for the past few weeks and only went as high as 13 after we released rc1. We are currently at just 8 blockers.

Sketcher:
PaddleStroke fixed a bug with geometry copy-pasting and another bug where on-view parameters would use numeric input for the wrong constraint in certain scenarios.
AjinkyaDahale fixed another bug that would prevent users from escaping the autosnapping of circles with autoconstraint enabled.

Toponaming: mostly bugfixing and code refactoring. 8 pull requests from bgbsww and chennes fixed 9 reported issues including 3 release blockers. The toponaming PRs queue has been largely cleaned up. Currently, there are just 3 PRs from bgbsww and CalligaroV left in draft, that could be completed before v1.0 is out.
